Missing person help

Not anything I can think of. Not in my jurisdiction either.

OP, have you contacted the San Mateo County Sheriff's Officer since the initial report to inquire about the status of the case, and to inform them of your beliefs that he is likely deceased? You can request to submit a voluntary DNA sample that could help identify him from any John Doe cases. Maybe also sign a release for LE to obtain dental records as well.

Yeah i have been trying to have closer contact with them to see how things were going, but then my emails werent being returned and i only recently got a call form someone else asking from the office asking about his guns, which he doesnt have and they didnt give me any other info so i was kinda pissed and didnt want to talk with the guy further. I sent out another email this morning going over my finding to the officer i was origionally working with.

There's probably a good chance that this case is already, or will be soon, assigned to their detective bureau for follow up. If the original reporting deputy doesn't get back to you, try calling their records department and inquiring about who the case is assigned to, and who you can talk to about it.

They might have this classified as an open voluntary missing adult case. There is nothing illegal about an adult just up and disappearing from contact of their own free will. So it might not be a very high priority case. But I think if you can talk to someone there about your concerns, and specific details, I think it qualifies as a missing person at risk / unknown or suspicious circumstances. Leads in the case might be hard to come by, but at least insisting on giving them your DNA to look at any John Doe cases might get them moving in that direction, and might provide some closure, if a match can be made.

There really is something to the sqeaky wheel getting the grease. And showing up in person might just be harder to ignore than voice-mail or email messages.

So sorry to read this, A. All the best in finding out the missing pieces.

Have you thought about a small social media budget to target with your flyer? Maybe a way to get some leads on info.

Keeping positive thoughts for you.

I'm so sorry I've taken so long to respond Aaron. There is nothing in my life's experience that can help me imagine what you are feeling. All I can offer is my heartfelt condolences. May this be resolved with a concrete answer one way or another. In the meantime, you are in my heart, which is really hurting for you.
