Missing person help

Instead of the warrant route- have you tried contacting SM County Adult Protective services? They also may have some insight from other county HHS agencies.

I called them and someone took down my name and number but i haven't heard back form anyone as of yet.

Probably not legal but if you know all your dads info you can try to create an account online and access his info that way.

an account for what? wells fargo? he already has one but i dont know his username or password

Have you contacted the social security office? That is if he’s collecting social security or disability.

I haven't. How would they help?

It sounds like you need power of attorney to get what you need to continue.

I'm aching to run over and "help" whatever that might mean, but it's just not in the cards right now. I like the suggestion to open a fund or bank account we can contribute to. I have a feeling you'd get a good response. If so, you could hire somebody with experience looking for missing people.

You seem to have every base already covered so I am reluctant to fixate on any given target but I guess I am going to do it anyway. When I read "asked at local bars" and "lives on the coast", I wanted someone to check the coastline and around any nearby cliffs. I am probably being needlessly dark.

:(

Do you know his SSN?

Any chance you have his email password?

It's scary what you can do with an SSN, some family history, and a home address over the phone.

"Hi, I'm DAD and can't remember my password."

"Of course, DAD, we can help...we just need to verify you..."

Is that possible to get if the person in question is not available to sign?

Appreciate the thought. I'm not out to collect money. Before I go spending money hiring a PI I want to find a couple of things out first. At this point im not sure my thoughts could be any brighter than yours. I think someone did something to him. I don't know if it was them being after his rent money or if someone hit him during an argument and then he fell and didn't get back up and they panicked or what, but i just need to know what happened to him. It doesn't make sense for him to be alive and not seen or heard from for this amount of time.
It's kinda the only thing i can think of that would give me any sort of peace or closure at this point.

Yeah, when my dad rolled that truck none of his affairs werein order and he was out of State, but luckily I had his social security card and we have the same name, so I just showed everyone my ID and Passport and gave his SSN and was able to handle everything pretty easily.

This Saturday I was planning on heading over to his place to grab his laptop and was going to try calling the bank from his phone to see if I could get by somehow, ya know, by phoning it in...

If you have not already tried your best to hack into his accounts I would definitely give that a shot.

If you can get into his laptop maybe he has the email account he used for recovery of passwords logged on and you could possibly reset his password. Did he have a phone? If so did he leave it home and maybe use a one time code to login?

This is a really good call. Also, its a good idea to try and do this while still at his home (assuming that his internet access is still active). Many email services will force a fresh login if the computer is moved to an unfamiliar IP address.

He only has a land line. No cell phone.

Damn, Aaron. I've been following this since you first posted, hoping for a swift positive outcome but this has got to be exhausting for you at this point. I don't really have anything to offer but know that I'm hoping for the best possible news for you. Fingers crossed man.

Got into his Wells Fargo. No activity. So at least someone isnt preying on him. But this doesn't give me any info as to where he went.
