Moto Guzzi V7 Racer - thoughts?

I'm a newb.

My 1st ride was a '73 Guzzi 850 Eldo. I wish I still had it. I'd buy another one today if I could. The Guzzi design is one of the most elegant and logical there is, IMO.:thumbup

Never said there was a perfect manufacturer. Look at the babies that die within a few days of spiting the curtain and don't make it: Even the most advanced machine on the planet, does some bad builds too.

:rofl

Dont forget the retro leather helmet...

Pretty sure guzziguy is Ewan McGregor trolling all of you, cause I think he's the only person on earth who's this diehard about Guzzi's.

Erm, yeah, that's the idea.
Dunno about you but I don't need big power to compensate for any lack of ability.
Big numbers belong in the pub car park
:rolleyes

i ride a ninja 250 and a derbi gpr50. i couldnt compensate even if i tried.

Well, I wouldn't expect much from an engine originally based on a tractor motor...

:laughing

More importantly, when a guy with a name like FirstBuell says a bike is a POS you should really listen. If a dude in 1986 Hyundai rolled up and told me not to buy a Yugo cuz it was slow and unreliable I'd take that as gospel.

jeebus, sumtimes I jest hates dis intrawebs!

OP queried about the V7, some folks posted up reasonable comments, & then things deteriorated rapidly.....

it's teh barf, eh wot?

blazingwheelstand - neither the CX nor the V50/V7 is a POS, especially viewed in their time

separately, an '86 Hyundai is superior to any Yugo!!

not that that 'fact' could possibly matter to anyone here......

where can one get one of these engines in a tractor? i'm looking for a small tractor with standard PTO capability for tending my olive orchard

now here is where the rubber meets the road - er, dirt....

auntiebling, this IS the Bay Area, after all -
a mere Guzzi tractor simply won't do, so I suggest this:

I didn't wanna go thru 10 pages, do the number plates (especially on the tail piece) come off pretty easily? Kinda looks like they might...

EDIT: Oh, and didn't Lambo start out as a tractor company?

oh believe me i've known about those for ages. i'd love to have a large one or whatever the biggest one is. i'm likely never going to have a 356, and the tractors are cheap by comparison.

i also want one of these

Why stop at tractors?
That's Count Agusta 3rd from right in the photo below.
