Remember - COTA is TEXAS, y'all. Most (not all) of Texas is long straight roads, suitable for Harleys n' Indians. COTA wants to get full grandstands - and the easiest way to do that in Texas is to run Harleys n' Indians. Simple, easy to understand business decision.
 
Lots of Daytona 200 news in recent days.

Triumph is bringing Peter Hickman and Richard Cooper as part of a factory effort.

Xavi Forés will race the 200 for Attack Yamaha.

Endurance World Champions Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) will enter Yamah R6 racebikes for team riders Marvin Fritz and Karel Hannika. The team already did the ASRA Race of Champions weekend at Daytona last October to prepare for the 200.

Seems he's highly motivated to kick some ass at the Daytona 200 in his one-off ride with Attack Yamaha, and hoping he can find some way to continue in MotoAmerica this year, after getting hosed at the last minute by his former team, having rejected other offers based on his understanding that he had a deal already.
