How High the Moon

It has been 70 years since Les Paul and Mary Ford recorded their hit, "How High the Moon" (released March 26, 1951, according to Wikipedia). Whatever your opinion of 1950s pop, this was an extraordinary recording in its day, a tour de force assembled from multiple tracks, Les playing lead, rhythm, and bass, Mary harmonizing with herself.

Here is an appearance on a 1953 US TV program called Omnibus, hosted by author Alistair Cooke. It starts with a lame 1950s attempt at humor, so you might want to FF to 3:00.
