New beer you had - Tell us about it.

Wow you actually had a Racer 15? Your a god! The only other thing I really like other than racer 5 is Pliny.

My ninja.

I had some 395 IPA from Mammotgh brewing. I liked it.

Had the Parabola, didn't care for it much but that's because it's not my normal favored variety.

I found the cafe racer over the weekend and had several. Great buzz but wow what a hangover I had yesterday. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary so I really hope it wasn't the beer?

Any day but weds and unfortunately I got a mgrs. meeting tonight, but yeah!

I have to wait for things to quiet down a bit though.

Too many broken things to fix at home before more work travel. :loco

Foothills Jade: the most magnificent IPA in history.

Not sure if you poor bastards can get it on the west coast.

Just tried Racer 15 last night. I already loved racer 5, and this stuff is even better.

Damn that shit is good.

i drink cases of 395 on climbing trips in Bishop, love that stuff :thumbup.

MUCH better. After several horrible to tolerable batches I made a Citra IPA that was pretty freaking good....so good I'd actually buy it.

Now I have a RIS at about 65% attenuation waiting to finish up on the yeast cake to be batch aged with some America Oak cubes soaked in port (for 120 days)...I'll give that one at least 9 months before it's ready.

and I have another IPA that should be very good - same base as the Citra IPA, but swapped out some Citra for Simcoe - that will be dryhopped shortly...

I'm gonna name it the 'KamaSimtra' ;)

Also have a Fresh Hopped American Pale session beer that's OK - used my first year hops...and at only 5.25% you can have a few without ruining the whole day :)

This brewing thing is FUN as hell - any and all tips from you pros are more than welcome. :thumbup

Excellent! The last I caught was when you wrote about all the caps that were going to blow off. :laughing Sounds like things have come along nicely. I just got a kit to try brewing was well. Lemme know if you ever need any help with anything, it would be cool to see some of the process.

/end threadjack - sorry Dan! :teeth

Tasted it once, have been scouring the earth to find it ever since. I would speedbag your grandaddie's bawls to have another pint of this.

I would die happy to beat off on the shadow of a man drinking a pint of this delicious nectar of all that is holy.

is this the same as their seasonal Red Harvest Stout? My beer guy can get it pretty easy. In fact I'm having a pint now :teeth

true story

If you can't find any near you and... if anyone is in the southbay area and wants to drag some up let me know and I can likely pick a few packs up

Do I get to choose between the 2? My Grandaddie does turn 85 soon and this would be a really cheap gift :twofinger

If you guys want to come over sometime, I have a pretty huge system that we could brew up enough for everyone to get some.

I'm going to hafta call a technicality on the shadow masturbation performance and the granddaddy sack tag. The Guinness Red I had in London 5 years ago came out with Guinness Extra-Cold draft and was available only in O'neils Pubs. Red Harvest Stout may be the same, but I will have to try it before i whip out the baby maker spread pearl jam on the face of Dan's shadow or lace up a pair of 12 ouncers and drop the rope-a-dope-stick-and-move on some octagenarian scrotum.
