NFL 2023

Who you route for is all good by me. Hell I am married to a Cowboys fan so I can take it.

I got you beat Budman. My wife is a Raiders fan and so is one of my daughters. My wife doesn't like it when I talk crap about the Raiders so I have to hold back but then the daughter comes over and talks a load of shit knowing I can't really do it back in order to keep the peace. So hard on game days.

Well you might have me.

I can throw in one Daughter who is a Cowboys fan and another who is a Rams fan (which my wife also likes).

If we can win #6 I won't have to say a word for a long time. :teeth

I don't agree with this, but if the Niners lose, the pitchforks will come out for Shanahan (again). "He can't win the big one!"

Yup. As will be chronicled often this coming week. Andy Reid was run out of Philly because,

"He can't win the big one!"

Marty Schottenheimer got run out...he never won.
Bud Grant went oh-for-four...never won.
George Allen won a bowl game...college...got Gatorade bucket...RIP...and never a Super Bowl.
Marv Levy is the ultimate...four in a row...no go.

Kyle isn't anywhere near Bud and Marv. But he'd be halfway there if...

(I think he's a great coach and 49ers will stay the course if KC wins.)

Not really, outside of NYC, nobody gave two shits about DeVito other than to wonder if he was related to Danny and who the hell dressed his manager like a back up dancer in a local theater production of "Guys and Dolls"... seemed more 15 seconds because he just wasn't THAT good. :dunno

Personally, I think the bigger factor for the 9ers will be CMC.

Hey it isn't our fault that all the media outlets were talking about him because they are in NY. Next thing you will tell me the media has a bias toward stalking about us.

:laughing

Why didn’t you pick P Manning’s 2013 season. 5,477 yards passing (NFL record) 55 TDs (NFL record) 115.1 passer rating and 5th MVP.

With that said I think choosing the “best year” of the Manning’s is unfair. Purdy’s first two years in the NFL are way way better than Eli or Peyton’s first two years.

Purdy does make some rookie mistakes but overall he has been pretty damn awesome. I hope he takes a page out of Brady’s book and takes a reasonable contract (30ish million/year) that lets the 9ers surround him with studs and they keep on winning. I hate the 9ers but I want him to succeed.

You can't really compare the 3 though. Eli and Peyton were both drafted high to save recently good teams that had turned bad.

Purdy walked into a win machine from the Gutter. Like you probably could have pluck Jacarcas Russel from whatever Puprle Drank laden haze he is in the same day Purdy started and even he would have won some games.

One of the interesting thing about it to me is how the culture of winning impacts young QB's in their development.

Like I have a strong suspicion that every single first round bust QB drafted had fallen into that same scenario, he would have live dup to his expected potential and become a big star.

Drop a young QB with some raw skill into a team stacked with talent on Offense and good coaching and see them thrive to become real heroes after a few seasons of it.

Great post.

Marv, ugh. If I remember correctly, the year they lost on the last second Norwood FG was the same year they put out the Raiders.

I wonder if the four losses in a row is what started the body slamming tables by the fans.

I won’t be calling for Shanny’s head if they lose but his head might explode and solve the issue if he does.

Mahomes and Kelce are going to be hard to beat because our DEs are neither tall nor the best at their positions. Based on last two games, Pacheco may well carve up our rush. I could imagine him getting thumped a few times coming past the line by Greenlaw and Warner but that kid is tough.

I feel we have a great chance at scoring per se but the Chiefs have good coaching and aformentioned talents.

I have no idea who wins but if I wasn’t a Niner fan, I would probably say Chiefs.

Lord, prove me wrong.

Given the current state of all the major sports teams in New York I would just chalk it up to "wishful desperation". :dunno

I am in on Shanahan for sure. I think we have one of the best coaches in the league.

It was Salah that went into prevent defense the last time we played the Chiefs.. Not Shanny.

I don't see how that could be the case. No one even sold the guy as the next big thing. They just liked talking about him.

I think because he is such a shameless and proud Guido. Not quite Jersey Shore cast level, but damn near. People were eating that shit up. I reckon that is ht e reason people want to hate on Purdy.

He doesn't have to seem much interesting character to offer.

I totally agree with this statement. I think Alex Smith is a good example. That first year he was on his back more often than not and he started hearing footsteps in his sleep and it made him gun shy and prone to bad decisions to get it out of his hands. It took many years for him to get over it and he became serviceable but think he could have been better if the O-line would have been better.

That guy got so raw dogged. Drafted onto a fucking dumpster fire of a Niners roster, once the team was built up to be a real contender, he gets shipped off to a total shit show Chiefs Team. He plays them up to a legit contender and as soon as they are a real threat, he gets dumped to the perpetually awful Redskins, who destroy him with catastrophic injury like only Redskins knew how to do.

Poor bastard.

Niners get to practice at UNLV while the Chiefs have the Raiders 4 practice fields and facilities.

Conspiracy?:laughing
