NFL 2023

Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer....

True... but I have to believe Purdy's numbers have to be better than theirs.
Hell. Probably better than Eli Manning, Phil Simms and a couple other winnning SB QB's as well.

Yeah not sure why the media be dogging Purdy but if they can win the SB I wonder what kind of moving metric they will use to determine that he isn't a good QB and is still just a game manager. I don't think the media will ever be on board with him even if he was able to win multiple SBs in his career.

It's because he looks like a dweeb. He doesn't have that quarterback look
He looks like your cousin Walter from Ohio.

Had to look some stuff up. Lets call it Manning it up.

What was Eli Manning's best year?
His best season came in 2011, when he threw for 4,933 yards, 29 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while averaging a career-high 8.1 yards per attempt. Passer rating 92.9.

2014 Peyton Manning had a passer rating of 101.5 with 4,727 yards, 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 16 games in 2014. He was selected to play in his fourteenth Pro Bowl.

Brock Purdy 2023 season stats ; YDS. 4,280. 5th ; TD. 31. 3rd ; INT. 11. Tied- QBR. 72.7. 1st. Passer rating 113

FYI: 2023 had 1 more game than the Mannings had.

Why didn’t you pick P Manning’s 2013 season. 5,477 yards passing (NFL record) 55 TDs (NFL record) 115.1 passer rating and 5th MVP.

With that said I think choosing the “best year” of the Manning’s is unfair. Purdy’s first two years in the NFL are way way better than Eli or Peyton’s first two years.

Purdy does make some rookie mistakes but overall he has been pretty damn awesome. I hope he takes a page out of Brady’s book and takes a reasonable contract (30ish million/year) that lets the 9ers surround him with studs and they keep on winning. I hate the 9ers but I want him to succeed.

Well as you said. I did not think his best year would be fair. The year he took the Broncos to the SB was still one hell of a year.

We don't know which year will be Purdy's best. I will update in about a decade. :laughing

He went twice with the Broncos 2013 best single season by a QB ever that ended in an absolute ass kicking by the Legion of Boom and 2015 where he hobbled through the season, missed a number of games and had to rely on defense to win the SB.

Im still rooting for KC next Sunday :twofinger

So you are saying that 2014 was a good pick.

And you like BBQ? :laughing

Who you route for is all good by me. Hell I am married to a Cowboys fan so I can take it.

2014 sure.

BBQ hell yeah

Ouch, wife is a cowboys fan. When the 9ers beat them do you have to sleep on the couch?

Nope.

She gave up because I would not rub stuff in her face even though she did to me. I mean it is only a game. Not like racing. :teeth

First, I'd like to point out that most of the Chiefs fans don't understand what state they are from.

Second, those fans don't realize what state the Chiefs represent.

Third, Chiefs fans are a bunch of hillbilly's.

That's all for this football'less Thursday.

:twofinger

As a Jayhawk hillbilly Chefs fan that has enjoyed riding in them Ozark hills you might be correct. At least they understand what city they play in. I also know where both San Francisco and Santa Clara are :twofinger

As a new KC fan (After switching from Green Bay, then to Detroit last weekend) I'd like to say that I know the Chiefs play in Kansas.

:twofinger I know it's MO :twofinger

I admire your forthcomingness and interest in keeping this thread going.
Mo what?

Speaking of Purdy.

Here is some good analysis of what the young man has become. Impressive.

MO, sorry. Missouri

Anyway, In all sincerity, I hope all of you Niner fans get what you want. As a jilted Raiders fan, I "Sports hate" the Niners, but I'll be happy for the folks who cheer for them if they win.

Now back to being a hater. :laughing

I'd love to get in all the trash talk but I'm very, very busy trying to find a Taylor & Travis themed Stanley tumbler.

:laughing

Post a link when you find it. :p

With all the Purdy hate out there surprisingly the 49ers are favored by, what, 2?
