f*ckin cop bashers, it's not JPMs fault that 99 percent of cops give the 1 percent a bad name
The OPD installing aftermarket pipes on its Harleys is old news. It was barely discussed in the LEO forum last June. Not to mention it was discussed in the General forum last June as well. Why was it brought up again?
Right. Because complaining about cops by BARFers is a favorite pastime.
And Blind Io, what about all the psychologists who fuck their patients? You going to get on your soapbox about them?

So how many of you want to bet that the "OPD has illegal pipes!" issue will resurface on BARF and the same arguments will be raised and the end result will again be cop bashing (and probably by the same guys)?
Those pipes have been on the OPD motors now for nine months. Don't like it? Then voice your complaints to acting Chief of Police Howard Johnson. Last June I chatted with him briefly just before the OPD motors did maneuvers on Hegenberger. Some OPD officers walking or riding by hailed him by saying, "Hey, Chief!" He was in civvies so I asked him what his official capacity was. (Deputy chief.) I even took his photo.

I'm not bashing but I would like my prev post replied to... I think there are legitimate issues there. I'm not for not letting officers have more safety while riding, If anything more! I would love for them to have protective jackets/pants and maybe a full-face helmet?
I think what the riding public would like is to also be allowed to have a safety measure that is advantageous to all motorcyclist

If you question, you bash.
You are a cop basher.:|

Bashing? There is a difference between a negative factual information towards a group vs. negative rants of a subject that holds no water.
"A motorcycle is heard before it is seen"
Ammm... "Sounds" pretty clear that Officers can have a peace of motorbike safety equipment that is openly being denied to the public. No one is asking for a gun, bat, bullet-proof vest, etc.
I don't know about you but I would like to be heard before seen as much as possible.
*note my bike is in full factory form*
1.) Subject has nothing to do with anything other than cops and exhausts.
2.) Sounds like the motorbike cops can use (a peace of motorbike safety equipment) after market exhaust. The excuse for the public not to use it is: "Because I said so".
3.) Complaining about problems. Instead of writing off complains as "rants" and "bashing". How about some humility that maybe some actions and laws have been done incorrectly (or bias)?
4.) There is talk of a small number of bad apples making the large (mostly upstanding) majority appear less than favorable! I can think of another group victim to this type of unjust and undeserved perception.
Oh, please.
To question is obviously not to bash. But for a BARFer go off on a tangent by presenting his personal grievances/history with cops/etc. is bashing. And then to rant some more when one BARF LEO offers laws and his personal opinion and to bag on him is more bashing.
Just like the story of the Triumph thief -- this thread became a "cops are bad" thread. What's the point of that?
Ican understand BARFers wanting to chime in with their personal experience with cops. But honestly how germane is their bad experiences with whatever story is presented? To say, It happened to me so I'm sure it happened to that guy, is so not even close to reality.
Hmm, I see this devolved into a cop bashing thread.
FWIW I got pulled over in my car yesterday for driving with...spirit, and I treated the cop with respect and he let me off with a warning.
Just remember cops are people and not justice androids and your interactions might go better with them.

Newsflash: A lot (not all) of police officers in this country stereotype the public too, you know. Particularly motorcyclists.
You seem to know so much about how cops think for someone who isn't a peace officer.

As an afterthought, maybe you should crack a criminal justice textbook written in the last 10 years or maybe even enroll in a police/community relations course. Whether you agree with it or not, a lot of officers are on record as being stereotypical.
