Online Dating, whats your experience?

Damn that was an articulate profile! I never had a profile 1/4th that good.

(The wordsmith in me did see a typo though, search for "preform" and change it to "perform")

Mine is just as articulate. You have to be if you expect decent results.

~ The majority of women in my age range are very 'Normal'... IE, I couldn't see them exactly being comfortable at a Roller Derby bout, or standing in the paddock at a race track. They look like they'd rather spend their evenings in a wine bar or walking around Santana Row/Downtown Los Gatos with their girlfriends shopping for shoes.

protip: "normal" bitches love that kind of shit

If you think this sucks now, just wait until you date the over fifty crowd. :twofinger

shit, that'll be me next year

fair, fat, fifty and single :cry

But I am retiring from the dating game. Gonna quit while I am ahead :party

There's more than one or two grammatical errors. The bit about how he is awesomesauce at Engrish is a bit defeated by them...I think that claim is why I really noticed them so glaringly.

Maintain the myth

I like yer womenz

A bit from From N2 Deep's "Back to the Motel..."

Is this the one? Aw yeah, that's the right one
I got the black bod and you got the white one
So hit the light an', I just might man
Try an' throw this thing all night an'
Get her so strung, that she'll drop some melt
So I can catch turf and hit another hotel

I liked OKCupid. The good thing is it's free, so that guarantees a lot of interest and a diversity of people participating. You can usually filter out the fakes and the just-browsing crowd pretty easily. I got a lot of dates out of OKC, but it was a lot of ups and downs. Mike mentioned the dispassionate browsing of profiles and yeah, that happens. I also went months without looking at it because I had just had it with the whole dating scene. Then you get curious and go back on, and the whole cycle starts again.

I got my friend in on OKC and she's had luck with it, too. Been seeing a guy for a little bit now. She had her share of turds from there, too.

eHarmony and Match.com were meh. Maybe it works for some, but not me. Well, I got a few dates out of eHarmony with one girl.

General advice: go on a lot of dates. Date people you don't think you would normally date. Be open and honest. Prepare for disappointment, but don't be so jaded you let an opportunity slip by. Be nice but also call people out when they're being crazy.

All I can say is that after reading this thread, I'm keeping hubby!

I'm too scared to go back out there!!!!!!!!!!

haha online dating is cool, I always had fun with it -- I landed my f16 a few times over ..

haha my introduction went something like;

"I'm a selfish prick. A hot rich pampered intellectual with a big dick and marathon tongue. I'm young enough to do it often and old enough to do it right. I don't have time for petty drama or emotional hysterics. I do what I want, when I want."

haha somehow that worked

I met my wife on an online dating site and we've been married 11 years. Before I met her, I dated lots of other women, usually 3 or 4 at a time. I really have nothing bad to say about online dating at all. :thumbup
