Oscar Grant Movie "Fruitvale" Wins Top Honors at Sundance

I haven't seen "Titanic" because I know how it ends, the boat sinks... I guess I'll save another $10....

Congrats on the win, I guess.

Heard about his on NPR. Very cool.

BTW if you meant to suggest with your bold text that it's a great accomplishment for one to win both the Grand Jury and Audience awards, it's actually not uncommon for Sundance.

With his lifestyle choices Oskar was bound to end up dead. Not a big loss to society.

I'll probably see it when it comes out.

Amazing. An epic picture about a drunken loser who picked fights and resisted arrest, resulting in an accidental shooting. How in the world do these bums end up being heroes? For fuck sake, how about some real hero figures?

We DO so love a "victim" :(

so how is it you know that this movie deifies the guy? did you get an invite to the premiere or something?

Does your lifestyle choice grant you immortality?

You mean like being honest, law abiding citizen of this great country? No, of course not. Chances of me being accidentally shot while resisting arrest? Zero.

When getting accidentally shot and charged with resisting arrest is entirely in the hands of a 3rd party, how can you be so sure?
