Pacific Rim - Movie

IConsidering all the rebooted/remade trash we've been having crammed down our throats lately, Pacific Rim is a breath of fresh air.

Yah I liked it, saw it in 3D last night and the flick had some good moments. Luther makes a good leader.

I enjoyed the plot, so completely off the wall. Gigantor aliens from another dimension, opening a portal to our dimension/world at the bottom of the ocean? Who thinks of that? :thumbup

Also a reason to cheer dead dinosaurs, they were the first wave !!

That. Was. Awesome.

Rinko Kikuchi...

So, I ended up watching an early matinee of this movie on the Metreon IMAX screen thus morning. Yeah, definitely an IMAX movie.

I expected this movie to suck balls, but I was pleasantly surprised. I even teared up pretty good in one specific scene.

If you're a nitpicking bastard that is bothered by a bunch of inaccurate stuff, skip this one. But, if you can turn off your brain and just enjoy a big fighting robot movie, this is worth seeing.

I agree mostly but I actually thought the movie was better than "worth seeing" and as a matter of fact, when it was over, a whole bunch of the viewers clapped for it, ....myself included.

2 big :thumbup if you can leave the brain at home and just get in the mood for a kick-@$$ movie. :teeth ;)

I know. Saw the pic of you in the hospital. Glad to hear that you're ok and out of there. Just had to give you a friendly poke. :teeth

I'd like to give somebody a friendly poke. :) "oh no, did I say that out loud???":teeth

You can fuckin' sit and play on barf all day but you can't take 30 seconds to answer a damn text or pick up the phone. :middlefingerswithoutsmileyface

I had written it off as a Transformers rip-off but then I heard BDT was behind it. I'll watch anything he's involved with.

Although I'm still bitter that things turned out the way they did with The Hobbit. It sounded like such a disappointing turd that I still have yet to see it.

hobit is awful. straight up, its just a terrible movie

I'm so glad I skipped that one. They showed a preview to the next Hobbit debacle before this movie. I don't think I'll be seeing that one either.

I can't believe they turned it in to THREE movies. There was barely enough plot there for one.

I wanna see it....if nothing else, to support more original stories in movies.
This needs to make money without having a pop culture reference tagged on it.

^^^
Exactly what I was thinking!

How about Misato > Striker?

Well, they at least didn't name it after the show just for Marquee value. That's what I mean. It could heavily reference it but they're not using the name as a crutch like say...Transformers. Or The Karate Kid. Battleship.
