Got the familiar wet-pine-needles-roasting-on-the-exhaust smell. I miss the rain.

That's a keeper. Thanks, Bill!

My bike came with a black box installed. I think it's another way of derestricting which contains something simple like a resistor that people pay $40-50 for!

Soaking my tank now and the vinegar is remarkable. I filled up yesterday afternoon and just inspected progress. It looks cleaner. I used a thin metal rod and scratched an area with crumbly rust and a large 1"x1" patch broke free and tumbled to the bottom. The acid is doing the work :thumbup. I'll let it sit another day and then rotate the tank to cover all surfaces.

So I'm thinking after the vinegar has done its best I will drain and rinse out with deionized water, then isopropyl alcohol, then gasoline and oil. I might also throw some nuts and bolts in there at some point to provide mechanical abrasion. I wish someone would make a power washer with a flexible nozzle. I think that would help blast a tank interior clean.

BTW my CB-1 won't hold idle it dies out. I assume a vacuum leak because if I add choke the rpm readily climbs to 3k+.

I sprayed the carb insulators with WD40 the best I could with the tank still installed and detected no change. Any suggestions on how to better diagnose?

Best, Rick

I went a little further out over the weekend :)

Wentworth Springs Rd
Did you notice if 11 Pines is now open? It was closed last October and was not likely to open soon. It's probably the only road heading north off of Wentworth Springs until you get to Ice House.

Just curious, I won't be heading there in the foreseeable future.

She's down with it.
On a side note, she may be coming up to Weaverville for the weekend to hang by the pool and relax around town. If she does, I'll bring the Moto-tote on the back of the truck in case we need to 'rescue' someone.
