Mr. Dual Sport Rider
Decided to ride to a remote town on the edge of the wilderness - Atlanta.
The town is small, but has been around for a while.
Was planning to ride back through Featherville, which is a shorter route and actually has a restaurant that is open. The pass is 7800 feet and by 7100 feet the ice on the road was getting very difficult to deal with. No visit to Featherville on this trip!
Even the KTM was warning me.
Arrowrock reservoir on the way up.
Other nice scenery on the 100+ mile ride to that town. Over 120 miles of dirt on this 230 mile trip.

I've been there several times. Was the Beaver Lodge still open? I rode to Atlanta from Baumgartner campground (directly east of Featherville) on some of the finest singletrack I've ever seen. It is a long grueling ride, but totally worth it. Beaver Lodge, Atlanta, 15 years ago...

I only stuck around long enough to determine that there wasn't any place serving lunch. Then I tried to get to Featherville and failed. Then I ate a granola bar and headed for Idaho City where I had "lunch" at about 3:30 in the afternoon.Atlanta! Dude, I'm so jealous of you living in Idaho now

Also, 2 of the 100 made Pagani Huayra Roadsters were parked across from Alice's today. Base price = $2.4M
$5M worth of car in that small space. You'd almost want to travelling with a security detail if you owned them.
