Encountered some KTM electronic gremlins. First the engine died on Hwy 17 and the dash showed "FUEL PUMP", but it started right back up. After an emergency braking on Zayante Rd (a car backed out of the driveway and blocked the entire lane around a curve) the dash showed "MTC Failure"; stopped to take a picture but the engined died before I could. Restarted fine, but on Felton Empire rd the display showed "Battery", and died before I could take a pic. Restarted fine but when I went hard on the throttle to pass a car, the engine went limp and the dash showed "MTC Failure" again. After restarting and got another "MTC Failure" I had it, cut the ride short and headed back. But the bike ran fine after that. This bike has just under 4k miles. A quick search on the web showed many owners of 1x90 series encountered "MTC Failure". :facepalm

It felt good to be back on my all mechanical 950SM, except I stupidly ran out of gas on the freeway a mile from home. :facepalm

Alamitos Creek Bridge. New on left side, old on right side.

They built side walls on this bridge strong enough to defend against a Mongolian invasion.

Hicks Rd. Couldn't find a way to ride the bike down and, more importantly, back up.

Back thru town, a lap around city square, and across the 101 on 11th,

Will take you on a great goat road for 9 miles before it goes dirt, Fickle Hill Rd.
Past town, ranches, , ,

Why, IDK this stump contains scrap aluminum, tv dinners & cans

Does this barn make my bike look small? ?

Max, is that you ? ? ?

End of pavement @ 9 miles out, up following a third ridge, haven't seen a "no outlet" sign yet, mailboxes #'s have been getting bigger up to 8867.

And, a view. The ocean.
Steep hills, big trees, have been lost in tree cover, and climbing, can't see for the trees.
Until I turn back, , ,
