I am very behind on this thread, but here's a pic from this weekend near Mt Patterson.

The 'Flying Brick'?

yes, the Flying Brick, but with only three cylinders.
being a triple makes it kind of a fun and a little bit unusual BMW engine, maybe. :laughing:thumbup

Yellow Pine or Bust

Today's long ride (321 miles) had a lot of pavement at the beginning and end, but quite a bit of dirt roads in the middle. This is Warm Lake Road, which has some wonderful high speed twisties. Comparable to Wentworth Springs out of Georgetown, CA.

Johnson Creek Road headed in to Yellow Pine. Too much smoke in the air to get a good clear photo, but the scenery here is quite stunning.

Beautiful downtown Yellow Pine. It would be a beautiful place to live, but you would have to use a snowmobile in the winter to get in and out. They want people to visit, but not stay there.

A dolos what they built the Humboldt Bay jetty with, interlocking 43 ton re-enforced concrete. This one was a display, and had to be moved or destroyed.
Local heavy equipment contractors donated their time to move this to current resting spot

Got out to Carnegie today with a friend on his 690. I need to get in shape for an upcoming CABDR ride!

I'm overdue to get out to Carnegie.
Thanks for the very influential nudge.

I need to get back out there on the DRZ, I'm always worried about getting myself stuck on a hard trail out there though.

If you stay off of the black diamond stuff, a DRZ should be able to handle everything else at Carnegie.

This is a GPS plot of two sessions that I did there on my XR650L. It's pretty much every green and blue trail there, minus some stuff that was closed on the right side.
