That is such a fun road!

Veef, if you havent, hit up Mt. Bache road>Loma Prieta> Summit. It's the left fork at the Highland Way split. Tard haven, and then road turns into 6 miles of hard pack dirt with some nice views.

Dude! I was looking at Mt. Bache on google earth last night! Yes will try it. Do I have to jump any fences or run from angry dogs or their owners?:thumbup:ride

Nah not really. There's a suspiciously hand written sign further down the road that say "private road" but i think it's mostly bogus and just there to keep the non-locals out.

Mt. Diablo, south side.

^^ that looks like a cool road...might have to venture down there.

Veef, I was there around 8:50pm yesterday but didn’t notice any other bike. While stopped taking pictures, two ranger trucks came by. The lead guy nicely said that Mt Umumhum Rd was not a county road, and that it was closed 1/2 hr after sunset. Fun road – too bad it has a gate half way up, and they don’t allow thru traffic to link to Soda Springs Rd on Lexington Reservoir side.

Ok, I thought I saw a similar bike pulling in while I was coasting down hill. I think I was leaving around 7:45.

I'm told that the road will open up to the Radar tower in 2016 but not sure if they will let you pass beyond that point.

Last evening was too dark for a clear picture - that was good enough reason to ride up Mt Umumhum Rd again.

haha, yeah, I was up there again too but no pics. Just enjoying the nice weather. Nice bike!
