I don't know which is more impressive, the fact that the old ones lasted almost 50 years, or the fact that you can buy new OE ones.:thumbup

The right tool for the job. 5# pick/mattock. Could not find my 30-year-old one. Have not used it in 10 years, may have lent it to someone. :dunno

Got back into RC. Built a crawl track on the side of my house. Just finished this 46' Power wagon. Solid axle, locked metal diffs, steel bead lock rims.

Oooh! I want that, only for realsies!

How was the body painted? it seems the letters are molded in to the body. Are these painted from the back of the shell or the front?

All the body logos are stickers. You are correct, they are painted from the inside as they come all clear. First color laid down was the copper. Then a back coat of black paint which pulls out the metallic much better.

Body fenders have to be cut out, as its a lexan "brick" to start with :thumbup

A friend of mine was in to 1/8 scale gas cars. Man, those were something.

The 1/10th scale cars just kind of bounced and bumbled around. There was a suspension, it did "stuff" but I think out of the box, they were over spung.

But my friend gas car, that sucker had some mass. You could see it hunker down as he got on the gas out of the corners, and momentum carried through the suspension when he was floating over bumps or breaking and turning.

You did NOT want to be hit by one of these, it was a significant piece of kit.

I haven't dabbled in RC since the RC-10 and 10T were "the thing".

:thumbup

Pastapower and I spent an all nighter putting together a couple of the "frog" kits we got at San Antonio Hobbies way back in the day. :teeth
