He is but isn’t a lap dog. If Kim sitting on the couch, he likes to sit next to me. He doesn’t lean on me, but wants me to pet him constantly. If I stop, he looks at me and raises a paw.

If I’m having a fire in the living room, he bolsters against the chair I’m in and soaks up the warmth from the hearth.

Otherwise, he frequently comes to find me and ask to be pet. He hangs out if we’re out in the front yard, never wandering and frequently checking in. Despite his lack of early socialization and resulting wariness, he’s very affectionate.

Electric menorah sounds great. Hanukkah, I have no idea how it got spelled the wy it did in my other post.

Talking with my mom over the past couple days. Christmas time, catching up, yadda yadda.

One thing she said, talking with my brother, he wants to make a real honest effort to repair our relationship. Why should I believe that? Over 3 decades of him not being a good person to me, why would this be any different? If he was sincere, he could have contacted me directly. I have a new phone number but I'm present on social media. I'm not that hard to find.

Errands have been run and I'm sipping on some tasty Philz coffee. About time to fire up the kitchen to get the foods going for the day, then maybe something outside since the all day rain doesn't appear to be happening.
 
Test results are in, I do not have sleep apnea, I just suck at sleeping well and snore a lot, so sayeth the test device. My brother did much better after he had to have his tonsils out, I wonder if I can find a doc who would rip those suckers out for me.

No he doesn't need mom. If he was really sincere, he would have talked to me directly.

The only thing I promised her is I can and will be civil with him. She's not getting any younger and she'll need help navigating her elderly years. For her sake, I can do that. But the idea of me and my brother being on good terms, not going to happen. I know that there are two sides to any story and the truth is somewhere in the middle but I know I didn't cause this rift and it's been a repeated pattern. Cutting him out of my life is one of the best decisions I've made in the past few years.
