So, I want to take a driving trip. I want to visit Bass Pro shops all over the United States. Some of them have bars!

the HQ is in springfield, MO. The Hemmingway club inside is top tier. I felt like a fancy beyotch there. Missouri ozarks are beautiful. Not entirely sold on the middle west but its an option.

What about a lifetime filter? How does that work?

actually "pretty much never heard" that about filters, but, ... definitely heard it about automatic transmissions. I think so...as far as I remember?!

I've never seen a transmission fail because it was serviced too much.

old wives tale used to be that if you went too long without servicing an automatic, you just drain and refill the fluid instead of a complete flush cause all the gunk is holding shit together

I just bought this honda ridgeline with 60k on it... the fluid looked fine. I still bought a case of fluid and changed it 3 times.

back in the day you could pour some sawdust into a failing auto transmission and it would "grip" better... long enough to sell the car.

Since I primarily drive manuals I dont know the veracity of this.

Lifetime lubricants are bull shit. I was told the same thing about my wife’s Murano transmission lube. I had it changed every 30,000 miles. The vehicle is over 22 years old now and it runs like new.

And BMW motorcycles said the same thing about their final drive lube. They ended up replacing a lot of final drives before they gave that recommendation the boot.
