recommended mods for ninja 300

IMO... 2mon is barely the honeymoon phase of owning a motorcycle. itll take much much longer to say that uve mastered the bike, even one like a Ninja300. instead of spending tons of $$ on a new bike or mods, u could do a trackday. its ez to realize that u barely know how to ride your bike, let alone outgrown it, when u see someone 20sec per lap faster than u on the same bike

I'm always use to speed. Heck my car is 540hp. So at first it was a fun thrill bit now no thanks to my racing bg I'm over it lol. Weeks ago I was afraid to go over a quarter throttle now I'm yelling at to bike to speed up at full lol!

Stangmx13 true. Idk bro it feels like I'm built for speed haha but tracking it could and should help

I have been riding my 250 for around 4+ years now. I still haven't out grown the bike. But I do have several bigger bikes now in addition to the 250. But that is not because the 250 is too small for me or I have outgrown it etc.

Ride a lot and spend the money on schools or trackdays :)

i'm surprised no one here has said tires... performance tires will go further than brakes or suspension (though those would be my next 2 suggestions)

its not about straight-line speed its about bike control, late braking into corners, trail-braking, line selection, being able to back the bike in comfortably and consistently, knowing how to react when the front or rear get squirmy, knowing how to react when you have the brakes lock up etc.

perfecting that stuff on a 636 or 750 is harder than on a 250 or 300, the bigger bikes are heavier, and speeds will be higher allowing for less reaction time

if you can get those things near-perfect on the 300 then go ahead and upgrade and you will have a heck of a lot more fun and be a lot safer

Stock tires on the 300 are fine for street or 'c' group trackdays. No reason to change 'em before they wear out.

but you'd be so much faster on warm sliccccckkkkksss dough or supercorsas mmmmmm

Ok. And thx tfkrocks...and honestly now that I've rapidly out grown the bike I'm wondering if I should get most of the money back in a private sale n grab a 636 or a r6 lol

:|

Until you can pass 600's at will (on the track) you have not outgrown the bike. Oh, and I don't care how many HP's your car has - it's not the same.

By the way, I'm not picking on you. We all (or most) felt that way when we started riding. Once I went to the track, boy was I wrong...

What kind of racing did you do?

Sell the ninjette and get something else.

If you race your car, you should know it's about corner speed not straight line speed. Just saying.

When I had my 250, I thought the full exhaust was worth it. Whether I planned to keep it for a long time or not, it helped a lot on track. Not specifically for power but more because the bike ran out of breath in the last 2-3k RPM and the exhaust helped that issue out. Kind of big deal when you're running out of gear approaching a turn and not sure if you should kick up one more gear for a few seconds or just stay in the same gear while the bike is weezing and not going anywhere.

And for something like an exhaust, you can always put the stock one back on when you sell it so it's not like you never get any money back.

whats more fun with your car.... flooring it to 150+mph on the freeway or taking a 25mph looping freeway onramp at 50mph? your ninjette wont do 150 on the freeway, but itll def hold pace whenever the road tightens up. its going to take a lot of skills to do that too, skills that u likely do not have yet on a motorcycle. u may be built to go fast, but do u know how?

ehh, im getting mildly off topic. everyone else's recommendation for brakes and suspension are good mods if u actually want to spend that money on parts. but spending money on the nut between the bars is a better investment IMO :p

Spend some money on track days and instruction, you will quickly realize that you have years to go before you "outgrow" a 300. A bigger bike will just make you slower in anything but a straight line.

At this point you are so new to motorcycling that you are not even aware of how much you don't know about what a motorcycle can do. After a year or so you might start realizing what is possible, a few years after that you might actually get to point of riding somewhere near a bikes limits.

I upgraded to my '01 sv650s after a few thousand miles on a '82 kz440. I've since put over 25,000 miles on the sv and I am still not quite able to ride the bike at her limit. Granted, most of those miles were commuting.

Trust me, I have the itch every week to upgrade to an r6, 636, 600rr, gsxr600, s1000rr, gsxr750....basically I want to upgrade to anything. The problem is that there isn't anything wrong with my current bike and I can't even ride her at her limit...I hit mine before she does.

No, I am not talking about straight line speed. Of course I'm always wanting more power, but I get to 60 in less than 3 seconds and 80 in less than 5. No one needs to accelerate faster than that or realistically go any faster than that. I'm talking about corner speed and line selection.

LMAO @ outgrown a bike... dude I have a 250, i would love to go riding with you to see how much faster you are then me. I'm on a supermoto so its slower too.

Thanks for the tough love guys lol I need it. I guess yea ...can't relate a car to a bike so i need to beat the itch and enjoy the bike. Me acting too big for my briches is only a recipe for disaster my buddy says anywho lol. It'd be great to go on a ride with you guys and see what I'm sorely lacking, as well as track days. Maybe it's my mundane commute that makes me feel certain ways on upgrading so soon lol

Tires breaks and suspension. Exhaust ...so nothing along the lines of sprockets, juicebox or pc. ...
