recommended mods for ninja 300

Commuting doesn't teach much about cornering. Definitely doesn't show what the small bikes are capable of. Gotta try riding different roads for sure.

Yes we all know about your 'sickness' :teeth:twofinger

Tires breaks and suspension. Exhaust ...so nothing along the lines of sprockets, juicebox or pc. ...

Personally I would change the sprockets when they needed to be replaced and gear it more for low end...but it will buzz more on the highway. Sprockets are easy to change if you don't like it and it doesn't hurt resale besides messing with the odometer.

Tey,

The bike is fine. if you need some umph, then Chris is right, but chain and sprockets are cheap, under $200, if you don't want to wait till they wear out (10k minimum unless you sabotage yourself) I'll even help you swap them out.

If you are tired of the 300 already, then screw us and get a 500cc or a 600cc. None of us is your mama. Ride what you want to.

But like your buddy says, you'll may get into a world of hurt, the more HP you have (and torque) on tap, if you make a mistake.

I will say, riding a high cc bike, teaches you throttle control and self control.

If you don't mind waiting a couple weeks, I could give you a lightly used set of Vesrah brake pads. They're still perfectly good, but I swapped out my brake caliper so I no longer have a use for them.

Hi Rebecca,

Which caliper swap did you go with? Is the mod more useful for racing, or an B+ / A track pace. In other words, is the mod really necessary canyon carving, over the HH sintered pads?

To the OP, thanks for starting this thread :) I did the opposite. I stepped down from a 600 to the 300. The 600 is a nice to have, but I fit the 300 better. Besides, I know I will have just as much fun in the twisties on the 300.

As for planned upgrades:
Sintered HH front pads and SS line
Pirelli Diablo's .... Pirelli Rosso II or SuperCorsa?
Race Tech front springs and rear shock (maybe .... If I feel it's really necessary)
Full exhaust (maybe .... If I feel it's really necessary)

I have an 01-03 GSXR 600/750 tokico caliper. No it wasn't really necessary at all haha. I did it for the hell of it. It did fix a rubbing issue I had with the front rotor though (possible caliper/mount damage) so I wouldn't quite say it was for nothing.

Ah ok
Final takeaways from this ....

Keep it clean, keep it mostly stock, and only thing worth it are new pads, lines, maybe exhaust (a must in my book lol) and got a pm for potentially hids. Ride for a year or so then upgrade. Lol

besides my springs changing the front tire to the pirelli sc2 i have a lot more faith in my bike going around corners. ive been going out to highway 25 and i pull away from liter bikes..

This.

leave it stock. it's not your last bike, and I think it's easier to sell a stock bike than a modded one, and you never get your money back from the mods.

I would only upgrade the brake pads when you wear out the current ones.

+1
