Response from Woody at Live 105 regarding his statements on the air.

i remember this. what a terrible show this was, and they were the ones that replaced howard stern in the morning. this show is what made me get sirius in my work truck in 07

I still sport a Boycott Live105 die-cut on me p'up,
just to keep em honest.....

Then one of the other DJ's tried to implement more damage control on Woody's behalf. I actually enjoyed that guy. I don't think he stuck around along. By that time the damage had already been done. I think he either rode or did some safety course thing. I'll have to dig up the archive.....meh, who cares.

Don't touch that dial, it's got KOME on it.

Actually weren't those words issued by dennis erectus to Kathy kome if memory does serve me correctly? But at that time, way back in the day,...........and my own memory...............:laughing We actually did used to listen to that show though, while working, but hey, it was the bay area, back in the day.....:laughing

Edit: Just now see digdoug's link-reading.

Edit again: Ok a lot of reading on a post I also missed, in my post I was quoting entopic about an old radio show those of us north of fifty will remember well.

Anybody remember KSAN back in the 70's? Man I miss the great radio we had in the Bay Area back in the day.:afm199

Just saw this; wow have things changed. Used to be a bunch of the Live 105 folks were riders. I used to commute over the BB every day to work there on my GPz1100 as the ACE (asst. chief engineer.) The CE was also a rider & riding partner. Never heard a bad thing about bikes back then. Different generation I guess? Only been 30 years since I worked there....:afm199

Wild now? Heck you guys should have been around during The Alex Bennett morning show days (mid-80's.) We sometimes had to have security guards because some of Alex's guests were, uh, controversial= so was Alex. Many times both the CE & I were under the mixing board soldering wires during the show because the old used board was so bad continually failing.

We installed the Continental 50kW transmitter in 86'; & several antennas which blew regularly due to the nightly fog. The place was small with a rather small group of dedicated folks, who were mostly friendly to each other. The old studio was at 9th & Market filled mostly w/used crap equipment; so we had to make due. I think they have moved since then & were re-sold to new owners group. Likely better stuff nowadays?

Had a lot of fun there; but left the day I graduated college w/an EE degree; because IT was better paying than Broadcasting. I hated to leave, but that's the way the bux bounces. I wonder what ever happened to DJ "Big" Rick Stuart anyway? He used to be a Triumph Trident rider= cool ride.

Yep. The weekly dope report. Scoop Nisker.
I remember the final song they played before switching over to their new country western format. AC/DC - "It's a long way". Pulling or putting the cylinder head on my truck. I was thinking; "oh, you guys are funny..." :wow Then :mad

Had a neighbor/friend who was the station manager for KOME for quite a few years. I recall when they changed over formats,my neighbor decided to move back east for a more lucrative position at a country station.
I heard that broadcast by that moron. I was riding daily downtown to Oakland from Hayward and usually stayed off the freeway anyways during rush hour in those days. It got a lot of people upset and rightly so !
