Ride this Sunday?

No, I had a VIN verification form completed already. I'm actually not sure WHAT it's for. A few weeks after I got the plate from DMV, the registration paperwork all came back in the mail with this typed on the front page:

"REFERRED TO CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL FOR INSPECTION. IF THIS IS A REVIVED TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE, A CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL INSPECTION CERTIFICATE (CHP97C) IS REQUIRED BEFORE THE APPLICATION CAN BE COMPLETED"

I don't get it though, it wasn't a salvaged bike.

Any LEO's on barf know what that form is? Can any CHP sign off on the paper work?

Dunno -- it says in the sticky in the LEO forum not to ask for help :laughing

was the bike from out of state? that may be why.
other than the time and effort it's not that big a deal.

when i had mine inspected the first thing the chp guy said was, i can't do this.
i replied back, they were sold as a legal street bike in california. i even said that it was honda's version of the ysr50.
all i think he had to do was check that they were indeed street legal bike in cali.

Yeah it came from Oregon, but I already have a VIN verification. I wonder if it's a different verification needed.

Question, how many miles is this ride? There is essentially nothing in terms of cell coverage or gas stations for most of this correct? I couldn't tell from the pic but are we talking Mines road past Carnagie then south for a looooonnnngggg time?

I don't think i can get the CHP inspection done in the next 3 days though.

Can't the DMV do the inspection? That's what I did for the Duc. I waited a grand total of 30 minutes to get that done. :dunno

Perfecto, thanks Mike!

At the meet spot, there's a gas station for anyone who needs to top-off.

Can we get a head count and an update on the first post?

Meet time 10:30am; kickstands up 11:00am?

11 sounds good. Man, the next ride needs to be closer to SF :x

Yep, there's a Starbucks for posing, a 7/11 for fuel, and a Wendy's (or KFC or some other place) and a gas station at the End of the line for refueling (both yer mini and yer belleh!)

Waiting on the wife to give me the green light.....tentative......crosses fingers

Hey Eddie, glad to see you back :thumbup

My free time just got cut down for sunday so im going to have to miss this one. I think ill just end up putting around the city with what time i have.

Awww dude that's too bad. Hope nobody else drops out. :(

Still going, but have a party to attend in the afternoon - so I will have to take my monster YSR with a V4 motor. I can do the Livermore bux to Junction to Patterson and hang out for lunch... then cut out early.

Sprained my ankle a few weeks back. Still a little tender, but rest-assured, I will join you all on one of these rides soon, just not this Sunday :thumbdown
