RIP Peter Lenz #45

So tragic.. I saw Peter at one of my track events this year for about two corners after he zoomed by me. I really admired his fearlessness and talent, as well as the dedication of his father who was there supporting him. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

RIP dear child :rose

Rest in Peace young man; may you race even faster in a better place.

Thoughts and prayers to the Lenz family.

RIP Peter. I'm praying for you and your family. :-(
I was hoping to see you win the MotoGP Championship one day.

Such a sad deal I JUST found out... Peter was always winning so he's a name we all knew even if you did not know him, you KNEW him....

I remember hearing about his bad crash up north and thinking... "Do I want my kids to race?" And he just came back... Suck a sucky deal.

RIP little hero!

:rip Peter and condolences to his family & friends!

May he watch over all of us when we ride... :angel

part of me tried to wait until i had gathered my thoughts, but you are so impatient for a response. it could be your boyishness, but it may also be that savage intensity that drove you to excel and exceed in a world that was far beyond your years. such chomping at the bit - admirable and vexing at the same time. young warrior, with so much raw talent and exuberance. you know you were a joy to us - but that pales to your own joy, the pure excitement of the life you had just begun to make for yourself. settle for a moment. and please accept my most profound respects for the way you chose to live your young life.

rest in peace Peter. my deepest condolences for your family who will miss the brightness of your presence, to your friends and loved ones, and to the racing community - all of whom have lost a beloved son, friend, fellow and shining star. and to the unfortunate young man who had the misfortune to have been there at the wrong time. the hand of fate is so cruel at times.

RIP Little Man...

Condelence to the Lenz family. I know, there are many, that are very close to him. A big community supported him. He will be missed.

I didn't really meet Peter or his dad, Mike, at Danny Walker's American Supercamp in Feb. 2007. They were at the mid-week session, which was when I decided to stop by and take pictures. Here are two that I'd like to share with BARF and the riding community in general. Soon I'll send copies of these and others to his dad, who some BARFers know as "sanfret."

Peter on one of the two, I think, Honda CR80s during the "dodge-the-cones" exercise.

I thought Peter was a really good-looking kid. The few pictures I took of him showed his happy spirit and dedication to riding. Not sure if Danny or Eldred or one of the other guys mentioned he was an up-and-coming racer. I don't follow moto racing on any of the levels. But I did remember Peter's face and his name from that very cold day in February when I showed up with my camera. I'm very sorry he died too soon.

My condolences to the Lenz family and their friends.

Wow ... damn this is a huge shock to me. I was following a few of his races / vids online and definitely this kid has a lot of talent. Incredible amount of potential when it came down to riding :(

You will certainly be missed Peter. At least he passed doing what he loved most, even if it was during a warm up. :rose

I'm sure you'll be riding all day and night long up in the skies.

RIP Peter :rose ... He blazed past me during one of THill days this year. He was flying. I wanted to meet him and told him "you are an awesome rider". he said "thank you" .. Used to watch his dad continuously working all day long on his motorcycles with dedication... Very very sad at the demise of an extremely talented rider. :( Sincere condolences to his family.

Such a terrible tragedy, it's just heart-wrenching. My deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family and friends... I can't imagine their grief... :rose

Peter had the kind of drive for excellence that is so uncommon that most of us are lucky if we ever meet one person in our lives who has it. His family knew this. He was also a very sweet kid.

I'm heartsick at his loss and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Oh, no. An occasion for grief, indeed. :rose
Ride on wherever you are, Peter. May his family's grief be eased.

I was at the races this morning and saw the accident first hand, but didn't learn about Peter's passing until I went by the USGPRU pits a few hours later. All the kids were shaken up and teary eyed.

As a motorcycle racing fan I hope I never see something like that again.

RIP Peter.:rose

We had the pleasure of racing Peter when we were still in minis and he was faster than his reputation. For sure he was the kid to beat. We are so sad for his family. I cannot comprehend what his parents are going through. We know the kids are doing what they love, but they are still OUR kids and seeing them leave before your time is a terrible tragedy. However, I am 100% sure he was doing what he loved; you cannot be as fast as him any other way.

Our sincerest and deepest condolences are with the Lenz family.

The Alonso family.
