Salt water reef tanks.

They looked like a mini wrasse. The Fire fish has settled in just fine. I acclimated it for about an hour. The fox face seems to be doing ok. Its calm one min then kind gets stressed a little then calms back down but is swimming around looking at its new home. I acclimated it for almost 2 hours. The crabs and snail just went straight into the tank. Once I get that lunar wrasse out I want to pick up that flasher wrasse. It looked really nice. I need to find the charger for my digital camera so I can take pics.

Got some new additions to my tank. I picked up a starry blenny 2 weeks ago. A royal gramma and a Talbot's damsel last week and I got a green clown goby today. Add the 3 clownfish already in there and I have 7 fish in a 20 gallon tank.

thats a lot of fish for 20 gal.
Any one want a free Lunar wrasse. If I can't give him away he is being feed to the local cats. I have him in my reef tank and he eats all the crabs in the tank.
Its hard to get pics of him. This is an older pic. It is changing from a juv into an adult so its loosing the baby blue on the belly and going all green now

Yeah it's a lot of fish for a 20 gal but everything gets along or ignores each other. Bring that wrasse to SF when you want to pick up the shrimp. You can get store credit at the place you bought the foxface.

Alright guys.... anyone looking for a large tank. My lovely wife wants it out of the house. Any takers?

Drew with in the next week or so I'll catch the lunar wrasse and take it to the store for store credit. Once I do that I'll put the coral banded shrimp in the large tank a long with the fire fish and another fox face. I'm playing with the idea of adding a cow fish and box fish to the nano. With them being so small I think it should be ok.

Well I picked up a long horn cow fish today. I'm acclimating it right now. The little thing is super friendly.
After looking in my large tank down stairs I think I need to get another mandrin. There is a shit ton of amphipods. They are creepy looking. My only concern is I think they are getting a bit big for a mandrin to eat.

I don't trust cowfish or boxfish unless they're in their own tank. The treat of them stressing and releasing the toxin and nuking the tank isn't worth it. Get a cleaner shrimp for the 'pods? I don't have any copepods in my tank because the shrimp ate them all.

There's two tanks I want to start up now but it depends on if I get this job or not. I want to do a freshwater Fluval Edge with upgraded LED lights. 3 cherry red shrimp, 1 African dwarf frog, 4-5 rummy nose tetras, 1 otto catfish. Plants: Anubias, mossball and mini-swords. The other one is a JBJ 3 gallon picotope. 2 different clown gobies, 3 sexy shrimp, and a court jester goby. Corals: shrooms, zoos, pulsing xenia.

Psssst....

Send me that job lead so I can get money to buy you tank.:laughing

Seriously! I need a job too, I haven't upgraded or changed anything in my tank because I need some money! I need new bulbs for the t5's but haven't been able to get them yet.

:bump from the dead.

I just got a black Fluval Edge tank that I'm going to turn into a reef tank.

its a sucky cell phone pic but my xenia is doing pretty well and spreading a lot.
Here is an old pic of the xenia

Factor is that the tank that is supposed to be reef ready? I dont know anymore haven't bought or looked at new equipment in awhile.

On a side note after 2 years my old cheapy vertex Skimmer died. So I had to go out and buy a new one. Got a super reef octopus xp-2000 cone skimmer.

Anyone want a SPS frag? Don't ask me the name cus I don't know. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

The Edge isn't supposed to be reef ready. You have to mod it so that the lights can support coral. I'm going to get some MR 16 LED bulbs from Home Depot and some blue LED light strips for moonlighting. I know some other guys put two Coralife 50/50 bulbs in there but you need a reflector if you're going that route.

I just bought a 50 breeder and am slowly going to be building this thing up. It should be a pretty sweet upgrade from the 15 gallon.

On a side note, I am thinking about starting a maintenance company here pretty soon. I already work maint. for side money but am thinking about starting it up full time. Do any of you guys do it?
