I just bought a 50 breeder and am slowly going to be building this thing up. It should be a pretty sweet upgrade from the 15 gallon.

On a side note, I am thinking about starting a maintenance company here pretty soon. I already work maint. for side money but am thinking about starting it up full time. Do any of you guys do it?

I tagged along for a day before the store shut down. It's pretty straightforward and you treat all customer tanks like your own except you move 5x as slow since it isn't your tank/koi pond and it isn't your house/hotel/restaurant.

But if you're good at it and you keep your clients happy they'll be clients for life.

The coolest "hitchiker" just popped up in my tank. Have no idea what it is or where it came from!

stupid heater... stopped working. 10 fish died lol. but its okay. its a freshwater tank lol and the fish are 99 cents each.

Speaking of freshwater, I'm going to tear down my Eclipse 12 and set up a Fluval Flora 8 gallon. They're pretty sweet, built in CO2 and it comes with a decent light for plants.

My uncle used to breed discus after coming from a salt fish-only/reef tank. He said breeding those things was harder than the reef tank.:laughing

I love discus. Just came off a 10 year run before going back to salt. Nice Jurupari. My arowana ate mine :(

Holy hell. Colt coral/Kenya tree coral are tough. I wish I took pics of it before but I seriously thought it was dead/dying. It got sucked into the filter intake about a week ago and it was just white and shrivelled for 2-3 days and now the color is coming back and polyps are starting to open. Soon as it's all colored up and all the polyps open up I'll frag a piece for mah BARFers.

Sorry. I'm finished with tanks larger than 10 gallons.

Anyone know where I can get some TANK BRED dwarf seahorses locally? Nobody in SF is willing to carry them and I'm willing to go anywhere 100 miles round trip to get them.

I've seen a bunch lately, must be in season. Aquarium Concepts in Dublin had 4 or 5. Atlantis in Union City had a couple and, Connies in Castro Valley had 1 or 2. Had to look the other way to keep from buying. Oh yeah, Superway in Hayward has Pipefish. Pretty cool too.

Would still like to do a smallish salt setup :|

Thanks! I'll give those places a call and see what's up. I just got a 2 gallon Fluval Spec and it's quite possibly the best pico tank for dwarf seahorses. Going to try and get a male and female so I can breed them.:cool

I wouldn't start with an EDGE even though it's probably the best looking small tank out there because it's really, REALLY hard to work with.

ex: I just filled the tank to the brim and that coral got knocked over. Better break out the hose and siphon some water out. Okay done with that, now I need to get my magnet and push all the bubbles through that small opening. It's a PITA but the Oceanic Biocubes are probably the best as far as kits go.

Some night shots of the 90g-

Goddamn, that's a nice brain. I'm battling some serious diatoms in my Edge right now and SOL since there are NO snails I can use for algae that won't flip themselves over.

I'll try to post pics.
