Hey Sharky what roll chart holder are you buying? Can't tell if any of the roll chart holders I'm looking at are "jart" style...

Need to get one and none of them reference art jenson anywhere.

Checked a bunch of old threads with old dead purchase links so if anyone has a line one these jart chart holders, hook a brother up!

Hank, I have a roll chart holder you can use, if you find nothing. Can bring it to Baje gig on Tuesday.

I noticed the address to send the entries is in San Ramon now.

Can we still show up at 12:01 AM on April 1 to hand deliver entries?

Sounds like the same place as the last few years and yes you can hand deliver at 12:01am. Last year there were ten or so people there at midnight. Neighbors must love it. :laughing

Thanks man! I'll purchase the one Daniel suggested. If it doesn't work it's nice to know I've got a back up:thumbup

Does this ride fill up asap? I see people turning in APPs at mid-night (what is this: the new iphone?)

I'm thinking about going but need to set some things up first.

Rally a group of buddies and do it on another weekend. The line for gas is shorter, no dust. GPS tracks are available.

While most of it can be done, there are sections of private land which are opened up for this event and are otherwise not legally passable. There are, of course, ways to get around those sections. Still, it's kind of fun to do the event, despite the chaos.

Great idea if I miss it. Something about the large group effect draws me in and makes me giggle like crazy watching everyone negotiate the ride together.

You would have loved last year, then. There was one section towards the end of day 1 that was VERY muddy and quite slippery (Sherwood Rd, I think it is called). Quite a few folks apparently gave up trying to make it through and just spent the night in the muck. :laughing

Our group had fun sliding around and actually discussed going back that way on Sunday. Of course, we weren't on big bikes....

I need I get my jetting sorted and get training a little on my new to me bike. Despite frequent stops it's still a long couple of days.

IN, any good camping spots near fort brag. can we carry light camping stuff during the event?

The promoting club will carry 1 duffel bag from Stonyford to Fort Bragg for ya.

Some camping in the Fort Bragg area but 99.99% of riders get a hotel there (shower, in town, etc).

So most normal is you camp Friday night in Stonyford, and stay in a hotel in Fort Bragg.

Abhijit this ride is alot of fun there is always people to ride with what ever route you choose.

It's fun to set off in a planned group though. Last time I did the SI, I had a sprained ankle and opted to take all the easy splits. It was a great help going with two other guys as one was quite experienced and helped with navigation. The roll charts can be cruel mistresses and it's easy to get confused. We ended up getting separated on the second day/second half. The roll charts were wrong and I did the second half alone and sometimes lost. Since everyone else was lost it was no big deal, but I was glad to have had the extra range in my tank to account for the extra 50 miles I had to ride.

Can someone trailer my bike in pending I don't have a trailer by then? I'm really considering this (and joining the fools who will be in line at mid-night just for the experience and see who the real dirt-heads are!).
