Can someone trailer my bike in pending I don't have a trailer by then? I'm really considering this (and joining the fools who will be in line at mid-night just for the experience and see who the real dirt-heads are!).

I could probably hook you up if I get my act together in time. I won't commit until I pay for the entry, since I'm on te fence about being ready in time.

Me too! I think I will miss the StoneyBARF meet in favor of planning for this ride.

Thanks Craig. Looking forward to it. Last year i booked a spot only to cancel it at the last moment. This year i showed the letter to misses and begged for the 2 days.

Abhijit this ride is alot of fun there is always people to ride with what ever route you choose.

I will be in to tag in for the easy split with you.

It's fun to set off in a planned group though. Last time I did the SI, I had a sprained ankle and opted to take all the easy splits. It was a great help going with two other guys as one was quite experienced and helped with navigation. The roll charts can be cruel mistresses and it's easy to get confused. We ended up getting separated on the second day/second half. The roll charts were wrong and I did the second half alone and sometimes lost. Since everyone else was lost it was no big deal, but I was glad to have had the extra range in my tank to account for the extra 50 miles I had to ride.

Stonybarf is awesome! Someone will have to miss it for work and will volunteer to deliver the sheetiron entries for the stonybarfers. I think this happened last year too if im remembering correctly. :p

Get someone to drop your form off. Stonybarf is a lot of fun!

Why don't you just mail it in? That's what I did 2 years ago and I got in.

I sold my klr to bruno and I have been looking for a bright green 06' ever since. We bought 2 new WRs last march and have been comparing them to the KLRs ever since. definitely apples and oranges but, them-thar KLRs give a lot of bang-for-the-buck and are as dependable as a 5lb sledge. ( which I also managed to break at-one-time.) This will be Travis' first d-sport and we are going to have a BALL!:afm199:ride:party

I'll look you up at the campgrounds. You going to bring your super-plush RV?

Sharky, I'm not sure yet, if not the m/h then I'll take the p/u & sleep in the back.:afm199:ride:party

Who wants to turn in my Sheetiron ticket so I can roll up Friday night after work?!

*Sheetiron 2017 Cancelled*

Not an April fools joke. The OMC just cancelled this years 2017 Sheetiron dual sport May 21-22 event. I am bummed. I look forward to this event every year, however this year they felt it was not safe to try and reroute it due to route m10 being completely gone and not passable through Stoneyford. Bummed, see everyone next year.

Oh man, say it isn't so!

There's nothing on the OMC site yet.

Eddie, how did you hear about the cancellation?

I just spoke with Brent at OMC - He really wants this to happen, and there is still hope.

From Brent, according to BLM Rangers:
Goat Mountain
M5
M10 are all closed due to being “gone” or have landslides. Rangers have walked some of the roads, but can’t check everything due to weather.

Alternate Saturday route if nothing is open is:
Pavement to Lodoga, Leesville, Bartlett Springs, Indian Valley Reservoir, and somehow over to Sherwood ect.

Sunday route would still be Navarro, Cow, and then basically the bail out route from last year being the reverse of Saturday’s route mentioned above.

Brent wants everyones opinions about still having the ride with less singletrack, and more fire roads and pavement.

Perhaps a Poll is in order for a separate thread.
