I already did a swap with CJ at Stonybarf. I have a very open relationship with my bike, she let's me ride whoever I want. Hell, take me on enough hard trails and you might be riding my bike more than me! :laughing

If there is a Baja contingent going that doesn't mind putting up with a slower rider I'd love to tag along and continue my "interview" process.

Alex, I'm going to be taking the easier splits this year. Let's see if we can find each other on Friday night or early Saturday morning. PM for more details. Tom.

My favorite part is waking up at 6 a.m. Sat morning to the sound of Thumpers warming up. :afm199

I can't wait!

checkin in

Rider #167 checking in! I'll be on my XR400 with the red milkcrate on the back. Easy Splits.

All of the new to dirt riders have boots. Don't risk thrashing your street boots with clay mud.

Size 11 for free or you can give me a Peets card.

For three years straight I have been filled with envy watching all my friends do this ride. This will be my first year participating! :party
I am so friggin' excited I could :barf

Booked my room at the Emerald Dolphin. Down the street from the hijinks I expect will be going on at the motel 6.
:laughing

Does anyone know if I need DOT tires to pass tech? Currently running MX-32 front and MX-52 rear.

Just make sure your bikes not too loud. :thumbup
Loud is a relative term.
Can you refresh my memory on how they check (distance from microphone etc.)
I have an aftermarket can that is not loud, but certainly not as quiet as stock. The DIY phone decibel meters aren't really cutting the mustard.
The Rangers at Carnegie haven't given my bike a second look and it's quieter than the average 4T 450 with a pipe.
The T5 is supposed to be quieter than the stock KX450F can at full throttle.

You don't need DOT tires. You do need to have a licensed bike that meets the 96db or lower sound limit with a spark arrestor.

Its tested with a microphone and brapping at idle.

You can always ask the rangers at Carnagie to test your dbs if you really want to know how loud it is. They are friendly and will do it happily.
