Slow riding practice tips?

BTW, Beginner, you need to turn your head way more on the figure 8's.

I'd have thought you would have mastered those by now, given your experience with them.

im behind the times... my March 2010 newness shows b/c i didn't know this guy. So I checked threads/posts/etc...

does he ever ride outside of his parking lot? or on anything bigger than a mountain bike with an engine?

He sometimes rides around the farm in the dirt... same bike... and his original avatar had a picture of his parking lot practice space, which had a giant figure 8 from the tire rubber being ground into the asphalt from hundreds of hours of non-stop figure 8's... :facepalm

I just practice figure 8's all day with my buddy Enchanter.

I've gotten to where I can actually do them with Enchanter sitting on my shoulders.

Where're thinking of taking our show to Vegas.

Dave- brings it like a Boss!!! :rofl :rofl
So..... which one's Tim??? :teeth

It's all true.

You really should try eddie's bucket stop. It was generous of him to give that tip. If you can't do that stop with a few inches of roll back the bike isn't really standing straight up, which is helpful if you need your bike's full braking power.

Oh, lord, I can't wait for certain people to see this!

It's just like being a kid, and ordering something off the back of a cereal box, and you can't wait to run home from school every day and look in the mailbox! I'm going to be checking this thread just like that, like I can't wait for the package to arrive!

:laughing :laughing :laughing

Oh you guys.

I have an autistic friend that goes to the zoo every week. I can't imagine what changes that much. This thread reminds me of that.

My bike stands up just fine on the brakes. Unless I'm in a parking lot.

Yeah pretty much. Either that or slight OCD.

Something tells me you won't ever have to worry about this problem... Ever... Like, forever ever...

I'm going with asperger's.

The funny thing though......how many of us (motorcyclists) DON'T have that ....to some degree :laughing (remember the thread about how we put our gloves on )

It's really sort of necessary for our survival, to religiously adhere to and repeat certain behaviors

He's the one spouting the relevant technical information. :|

We actually had to fight over the pink suit....

:rofl :rofl

There's a difference between adhering to certain behaviors (yes, my right glove has to go on first... :laughing)... and turning certain behaviors into a religion...

You don't remember his epic story with his police encounter?

What the officer did exactly was pull onto the bridge when he saw me coming, go almost to the other end where there was the most gravel, and put the nose of the truck in my lane. When I got close police style lights flashed once from inside the cab. A moment later he stuck his head out the window and shouted stop NOW! Which I reflexively did, on the gravel. My speed at the time was probably 10 mph.

When the officer got out of his truck he was laughing and told me it's not smart to stop on gravel. I was in shock, on the pavement, laying against the guard rail with the bike on top of me moving body parts one at a time checking for injuries while he stood there taunting me. While I was down he asked if I had an endorsement. I said no. He never asked for ID, never asked my name.
Holy crap, I forgot I even offered to pay for his MSF class if he didn't learn from it. Right fracking here

:Popcorn Someone defrost that old horse, looks like we might need it again. :deadhorse

I think his feelings got hurt. Heres some advice toughen up your skin. People will always poke fun if you cant take it stay out of the lime light. If you have spent anytime on this forum you would see it comes with the territory. Enjoy riding slow from what I have read it sounds like you might kill yourself at any other speed.
