So Who Rode in Today?

Luckily I have off, and everything should be dry by the time I ride down to Pleasanton.

any one have any sketchy moments lane splitting over the bott dots? Loss of traction? Or is it pretty safe to accidentally run over them?

Had to accelerate partially over a row of bott dots to avoid someone merging into me...pretty slippery.

The amount of time it takes me to put on my rain gear is longer than it takes me to get to work, so I drove.

not me, i slept till noon. was up a bit around 7:am but went back to bed.

today is my saturday. :cool

.

I was watching the news dreading the ride from SJ to SF today .. finally summoned enough courage to roll out of bed when the boss txt'ed me that I could work @ home today.

Tough luck for you guys that had to ride though. Glad you all made it safely. :)

A-hole! :p

Yup! But I was questioning my sanity as I could see nowt. I left at 06:30 and rode 84 from La Honda to Menlo Park. My FogCity performed poorly so I had to crack my visor, which allows the water in reducing visibiltiy further :nchantr. I could barely see. Still, it was a fun :ride Not for the faint of heart though. It'll be more enjoyable this evening when there's daylight :teeth

Same thing happened to me - had to crack my visor while lane splitting, and got water droplets all over my glasses as a result. Pretty annoying!

Pretty straightforward stuff today--lightly raining, some wind, heavier traffic than usual. I eased up on speed in general and was pretty cautious around corners and shiny things. Had one gal try to move over into me as I was splitting--she saw me and I was getting out of her way at the same time. Not a near miss, but I felt I should take action, and it wasn't needed in the end. Other than that, a very boring ride. :x

First real rain in the new Klim gear.

Fantastic. Not a single drop got through.

Hands down the best gear I've owned in 20+ years riding.

I LOVE riding in the rain. I do, however, HATE commuting in it. Consequently, I drove the truck today. I really don't mind if it rains on my ride home, but it sucks getting to work and being wet and cold. My gear is reasonably water resistant, but it isn't perfect. If this were a Saturday, I would most likely be found up in the hills, sliding around and having a grand ol' time.

Nope, I needed the car for work today. :cry

Course I did! Rain wasn't an issue but someone sure jammed up 101 south in Marin and the lane splitting was a god send!

SJ to San Carlos 7ish AM, light rain, heavy sharing. New BT023's have not slipped yet. My last set lasted 12k miles, so I'm pretty happy with em.

RoadCrafter kept me dry. I even had the shorty wind screen on, It didn't seem worth the 5 minutes to swap to the touring one. :ride

Not many other riders. Cagers were nicer than usual.

Funny you mention this (it wasnt splitting though). Coming to a red light, filtering between stopped cars, hit the side of a bot dot while brakeing, slide down the side of it and continued sliding on pavement for another inch. It wasn't reassuring. Both feet flew off the pegs. Thought I was going down. Just glad it finally stuck!

Nice looking jacket, although look at that pricetag...1%er...:p

Rained all the way over Hyw 17 in the dark. I need a visor wiper, so I'm gonna try to glue one on my gloves. Has anyone done this successfully?

Nothing to it.

Left South San Jose about 6:30am. It was dark, dry, and windy. About 10 miles up 85 the rain came. The rest of the way up 280, 380, 101, was raining light to medium, with a couple of miles of heavy.

Fog City performed perfectly. RainX on the outside always a life saver. All my rain/winter gear and my Gerbring Jacket Liner was warm and dry on the inside. I am still amazed that my waterproof boots remain waterproof after all these years.

I like the new gloves I got from GearChic, Thanks JoAnne :)

stayed dry in the Rukka, but I've got an aerostich on order now (easier in/out)
