Wet weather riders check in...

I took off around 7:15 from the North Bay in heavy downpour... 30 miles of 1st/2nd gear lane-splitting and the rain never let up. Barely made it to Oakland in time for 9am meeting. Got passed early on by a very skilled or very crazy dual-sport rider.

My rain pants leak.

Rode in? :laughing
I'm still in bed with the dogs, it's to wet out there to leave this warm cushy nest. Canceling Monday.

I rode in on BART!

I can't ride now as I just had work done on my Tattoo Saturday. Else I would have rode the bike to BART as normal.

7am, Rode to work in Redwood City from Hayward via the San Mateo Bridge. Good times. I even saw another biker at one point. We just looked at each other like "yep". Learned my left boot isn't waterproof somehow. I had to lane split a few times too which I was a bit worried about but I made it in one piece. Definitely need better rain gear though.

I dont Start my day until 3pm but I get to test out these frogg toggs for the first time. Im hoping the dont leak in the crotch area cold wet balls are no Bueno.

Wife's car got left at her work on Friday afternoon, so not only did I ride in, but I dropped her off as well. We took the fartmonster along surface streets through Sunnyvale/Santa Clara, lots of splitting in a light rain the whole way. No biggie. :)

I rode in this morning, was taking my sweet time and splitting lanes at about 30-35 mph.

I rode in, conditions pretty poor, hard to see, etc. New waterproof boots/pants/jacket held up great though.

One or two small slides, has been a while since rain riding...

any one have any sketchy moments lane splitting over the bott dots? Loss of traction? Or is it pretty safe to accidentally run over them?

Which pants / jacket / boots?

Easy Peasy - light rain

Easy 20 minute commute for me. Just took it slow, no lane splitting, plenty of time for braking. Watch for wet leaves! I don't think my rain suit will last longer than 20 minutes in the rain though.

Please let us know how the Frogg Toggs work. I need new rain gear! I bought a Phantom from Revzilla cause of great price but its a *itch to put on. Sending it back.

I briefly thought about it as the weather was pretty mild at my house. But it was near white out conditions over the pass and ~3 inches of snow in the parking lot when I got here. So, no, I didn't ride in.

Just ordered these Tourmaster ColdTex gloves this morning, felt bad wearing my nice Rev'It leather gloves in the rain....

I was avoiding the paint and dots like a plague! Felt the rear tire slipping on a left turn, ease of the throttle and made the turn.

Same here, tried to get off the bike more than usual while "artificially" straightening the bike to maximize contact patch. One completely controllable slide coming from a left-turn offramp.

Everyday. Geared up with rain jacket and pants and the whole deal and ended up with sunshine comin across the bridge... at least it helped keep the road spray off. But yeah swapping off the summer tires for some Z8s has moved up the z-index...

Rode from Pleasanton to SF this morning right when it started pouring, and lane split for probably half of the trip. Didn't see any other riders the whole time either! I don't take 580 very often, but it seems like drivers on that freeway are much less conscious of lane splitters than the drivers on 101.

I stayed almost completely dry except for my left boot for some reason - I felt a stream of water rush down towards my toe when I came to a stop :nchantr
