So Who Rode in Today?

I got warm on the ride in :ride

Photo of the day is a reminder. That photo of the grip warmer setting I took yesterday cost a bit more than a return visit to the bike.

You see, there is this lame ignition setting I've only used twice, and both times by accident.

Imagine, it's 37 degrees
The bike is cold, but you jump on
and wrap your legs tightly against the frosty metal
The brisk morning air is nipping at your thighs
Half way in, your fingers and legs are burning
It's a great ride in and a beautiful day

Yesterday, the leaves have turned and half have fallen, low 50's, rolling around Cottonwood.
Reminds me of winter in Vacaville but the months have changed.
What I saw yesterday, would have happened early to mid November, not the end of December.
I thought about winter, riding on my ol' sportster, the bite of cold, leaves brushing by as they fall,
the chug thru quiet, naked, trees, looking lost without foliage.

I wore my new Lee Parks Designs gloves and they worked great. Some guy said nice bike, I said Happy New Year. Exchanged pleasantries, wow that was a refreshing interaction. The twilight zone; the week between Christmas and New Years, when it seems people are either in the best or worst mood of the year.

Damp ride in. The roads are wet and there's lots of fog and mist so I couldn't romp on it when I was getting on the freeway. :laughing
Usually I'm somewhat leaned over at the end of the onramp and rolling deep into the throttle. :ride

Well, I almost forgot to post because it was the same as yesterday, except gas was mixed in.

Tomorrow I will go for a ride just to finish 2025

I'm trying to get as much riding in as I can, as I have wrist surgery scheduled for mid-January.

Gotta reinforce the ol' clutch hand.

^This^
I'm leaning toward pointing the front wheel toward Berryessa and the aptly named "Glory Hole".
Lesson learned....kinda.

took the ZX6R to Orinda via Wildcat Canyon Rd. Got way overpriced gas in Orinda then gave the Ninja an Italian tune up on 24 from Orinda to Fish Ranch Rd. Grizzly Peak had fog and a little drizzle. Not too cold but I could definitely feel a chill in the air. Saw one other rider on GP. Doubt I'll ride tomorrow with the rain coming in so today was the last hurray for 2025.
