Spider infested bike... wut to do...

Unless your a Bat than Spiders are Lunch.

fyi Spiders head indoors during the Winter.
During sleep people unknowingly eat spiders that crawl into their mouth. So if your human, spiders are a midnight snack.

nope. spiders are very habitat oriented (pretty much either indoor or outdoor, and never the twain shall meet), and they also generally don’t move very far from their established ‘home’ / web. and being cold blooded, they don’t seek warmth in winter. the only exception to that pattern is males seeking females during mating season. so if you see more spiders than usual in your house, they are either attracted by an abundance of other insects (which is more nasty than the occasional spider), or it’s sexy time and they are roaming in search of arachnid ass.

WRT your second point:

More than anything, spiders probably find sleeping humans terrifying. A slumbering person breathes, has a beating heart and perhaps snores—all of which create vibrations that warn spiders of danger. “Vibrations are a big slice of spiders’ sensory universe,” Crawford explains, “A sleeping person is not something a spider would willingly approach.”

and yeah - i have way too much experience with these little critters lol. my SO is like - can we get rid of some of them? me: NO!

A dude at work nearly jumped out a window because I picked up a spider and walked toward him thinking I was going to throw it on him.
Best not to tell people at work that you're afraid of spiders. Didn't make sense to me so I assumed he was joking.

How did the meeting with HR go?

Never made it to HR. Was an eye opener though. I was more trying to show him it was no big deal than trying to freak him out. Dude was panicking so much he likely would have use a weapon against me if he had one. People are bizarre.

Was trying to be funny. It is a myth about eating spiders while sleeping. But it has a good amount of being gross and funny. XD

A Sister is terrified by spiders. When she comes to visit, I have to clear all the cob webs. Showed her a video on how Spiders fly. XD it didn't help any.
Cool subject how spiders use static electricity to fly for miles and miles.

yeah - sorry about that. i kinda realized your point afterwards, but decided to leave my post as it was - good info for those who are afraid of them (so many people are!). it’s funny - they are such talented and useful creatures, and are so easy to live with - and so misunderstood. i advocate for them every chance i get.

i did lol at your comment about your sister. my mom is similar, and knows we don’t disturb the spiders in our house, so she’s likely to encounter one while she’s here. when she comes to stay, i always relocate the ones in her guest room. but to be honest, i do that more for their protection than hers. :laughing
