steering stabilizer?

this was fun to read. my:2cents, a damper can be used as a crutch, but set properly with adequate riding abilities can be a safety net for the unexpected. The only reason I want to get one (not need). is when the front end gets light coming out of turn 9 at t-hill and turn 11 at Laguna.

Now, if the OP doesnt like the damping affect of his stocker, and wants to shell out moola to get an aftermarket one, that is his prerogative. But now he sees the side effect of messing with computer controlled components.

Most bike have gone years with out dampers, but its a buyers market, and a good salesman believes the customer's always right.

Most sportbikes end up with dampers. Headshake is very common on a lot of bikes when you're powering off a corner and the front end gets light. Out of the modern bikes, almost all of them have dampers.

Yeah I get it even with a damper, gives me the willies! I hesitated to pass down the hill to 10 this weekend, so changed my mind (already past the crest) and goosed the throttle, head shake city! Without the damper it would have been a mean tank slapper for sure

This is also true with the new ZX10r's stock ohlins units, there is no valving (not sure about the new zx6r)!

As far as I can guess, what might be behind the "no valving" story, is.... the OEM valve has a tiny hole in it (and after market services like Dan Kyle, replace that valve with one without a hole). Rumor has it that Kawasaki specifies the hole so the chowder heads that buy their bike, can't fully shut the valve, and lock the steering.

That's just my guess.

if the wires are still there than you should be able to just splice them together to get the circuit and thus loose the light.... problem is you have now just cut off a connector which may/may not be needed in the future...

If you are going to keep this bike until she esplodes (which is what I do) than cut away... This circuit imho resembles a kickstand circuit... But I also gave you the actual professional way to do it above somewhere in all this mess :teeth

there doesn't seem to be any plug and play methods.... sorry

I agree with kawowie here... but gambit I will give the non-facetious/sarcastic advice thing a try even though it doesn't sound as fun :twofinger :teeth
