I have always loved tattoos and blues. Sad that I can't make it this year. :(
 
Any guess if the work needed for this tat costs more or less than the real thing?

That's actually not as complex as you'd think. I'd imagine no more than 2 sessions tops. 2-4 hours for the line work, though it's pretty subtle, might have grey or blood lined it if it was done in multiple sessions. Shading is not highly saturated. Probably 3-4 hours to color. May have done the whole tattoo in one sitting, straight shading on the stencil and emphasizing some lines. Coils look flat, i like the metal parts and skin tear.
 
Here's my 21 y.o. tat I'm having redone by the original artist Karl Fisher from Sacred Oakland. He re-did the foreground and as soon as it heals he'll do the lightning and clouds perhaps with some new do-dads. I'm shocked at how good its coming out!

Nice. I really should get around to posting up mine. I had Joey Armstrong out of 7th son do mine. Joey's also done a lot of work on my brother, brother in law, and a few other friends now. Jeff is pretty awesome too along with the entire shop - top notch guys all around. Highly recommended and well worth the wait.


Edit - just realized my brother posted up Joey's latest on him a page or two back. :thumbup
