The AFM is motorcycle history..great pics!

:cool

Pete was a fast cool dude... :thumbup

Looks like he is still a cool dude. :Port

Say hey to him from the budman!
I'll do that, were gonna ride up to Florence OR next weekend. (The 24th) The bastards still fast, ride'in that K12RS. I gotta take him to Crater Lake, he's never been.
Actually, you know who was really cool, was Grandma Francis! How did I forget her, bring'in cold cuts, bread, gummi bears, cookies, and drinks for all the racers. (Even Joe Brett Williams!) :rofl

Remember when Sears wasn't Sears or Infineon . . . :teeth
What's an Infineon? :laughing

Great thread. But how can any of those guys have been fast - they're heads are all in the wrong position...:teeth

Yeah I know he was into slides. What ever happened to Rob?

I haven't seen any of his photos much after that early/mid-80's time-frame...

I think I heard something about a glass business.. :dunno

Yo Budman,
I relayed the message, and Pete remembered you from the track. But it took him a little while because back in the day, I was the Budman. And we ain't talk'in beer neither :cool

You wouldn't believe it, Pete's been living down near Fresno (If you want to all that living?) for about 10 years now, and when he came up Thursday, we go to this Mexican Joint in Santa Rosa, and run into Mark McDaniel of all people! What are the odds of that? Mark had his little boy-child with him, and they looked so much alike it was scary. Even for me! (Can you hear the banjos?)
Pete still rips, he rides a '01 K12RS and carries corner speed like on his old TZ!
I'll go and type some drivel in the Cruising/Touring section...

Cool stuff Banjoy Boy.. :thumbup

Good to hear.. I missed Pete at a wedding last summer... bummer.

Can I share mine? :teeth

DUCTTAPE!!! LOL

Every NMP's special device Dave.. :laughing

Young folks.. knee pucks were ductape.. or leather.. because nobody made them..!
Toe sliders, belly pans, back protectors, etc.. all good stuff that was not around a few decades ago.. times change.

For motorcycle racers and safety that changed... has been very good..!

Exactly, about 40 layers of duct-tape made it just right. About 1" thick, & thick-enough so one race wouldn't ruin the "puck." You could just tape over the previous race's "wear." :teeth
