The Electric Motorcycle Thread

I like that they made a way to adjust the gear ratio so the speedometer reads the right speed. That was one of my gripes about the Light Bee.

https://surron.ca/pages/storm-bee

they changed something about it, it looks less pregnant on the front lower part of the frame. Looks better, still quite the tank though. Not a fan of the 19/17 street wheels. Why not 17/17?

There's always the aftermarket. Seeing as how Sur Ron sells a supermoto kit for the Light Bee maybe they will have one for the Storm Bee. I'd imagine if you wanted to rip at the track with it you'd just need to get a big rear sprocket too. Or adjust the gear ratio, no more swapping chains and sprockets. There should be like a wheelie setting.

No interesting news in the emoto world... Kawasucki said they will show 3 ebikes next year. So maybe we'll have some real competition in 2023?

I'll pick up a Limewire or Energica next year if the BBB bill passes (I don't like it, I hope it does not) and prices don't skyrocket due to inflation.

Well the new SR is out, I might take one for a spin when they hit the showroom.

It looks like the Metacycle is going to start shipping Q2 of 2022 like April according to this website. Really tempted to get one and use it for Doordash. Would be interesting not having to worry about the chain anymore. However it looks like the Storm Bee might be coming out then also, it'll probably cost more though.

Max Biaggi as pilot

never seen this video,
surprised it happened with a clutch.
maybe the engage point on the lever is very close the handlebar.

Well you don't even really use the clutch all that much on the Empulse. You can hear the dude is telling him all you have to do is twist the throttle.

Looks like he twisted it and it took off without him and he turned the handlebar making him twist it more. He couldn't handle powah of the Empulse.

But yeah be very careful if you are doing a tech inspection on an electric motorcycle. Make sure the bike is off because one of the things they inspect is to see if the throttle returns and well if it's on and they twist it off it goes very similar to what you see here.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, that the guy told him to not use the clutch.

A common demo blooper for throttle ebikes is the rider gets off on the left and pass the ebike to the next person who then grabs that throttle grip first and u know what happens next.

Ugh all the talk about climate change and no talk about the bike. All I see is it has the center duct. I guess the trike setup would make that possible if you sucked in the air between the wheels and spit it on top on the wheel. It's too bad they based it off a scooter and not something cool like the Niken.

lightening leaning trike down at corbin
tmw front end i believe.

A stock that might be worth a small investment into. Especially since no one (except HD) in the big leagues had stepped up to the plate. Still waiting on that bigger splash from KTM, Honda or Yamaha, like the way Ford has with that F150 in the automotive world.

I think the bigger players knows what's up and HD is more desperate than others to make things happen.

or I am totally wrong and that China will dominate them all when it comes to electrics. Kymco already has a big factory in China.

And china has unlimited funding at this point with a willing open wallet to dominate sales.
