My wife also rides.

I finally went on a 2-up ride with her on the Ribelle and she wasn't impressed at all. We did a nice loop on Hwy9.

Basically boiled down to "this is boring without shifting gears and the noises".

Unfortunately, Triumph is not on the hells of any E-moto. They have no plans of producing this bike.

That's too bad. My wife loves riding two up in the Santa Cruz mountains; she likes the twisties as much as I do and likes to keep a count of the wildlife we see.

I received an email this morning from Can-Am regarding their upcoming electric motorcycles: https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/models/can-am-electric-motorcycles.html

I'm no expert but the street version at least looks a bit on the small side which leads me to believe these will be city focused bikes, probably with poor freeway range.

Then again, if they come in at the right price point, that probably won't matter.

I'll keep watching their website for details.

Wow, this thread dropped to page 4! So I had to revive it with the new Zero DSR/X that was announced yesterday/today:

https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/model/zero-dsrx

Notable features:
  • ZF17.3 Battery Pack
  • Level 1 & 2 charging only
  • 544lbs
  • Listed City Range: 180miles
  • Listed Highway Range at 55MPH: 107miles
  • Listed Highway Range at 70MPH: 85miles
  • Starting Price: $24,495

I think I also read a quote of 150 to 230 miles off road range

I still want Zero to have DC fast charging like Energica.
We know that Zero needs to increase their voltage arcitecture in order to make that happen and that would require a lot of changes. Active cooing would help too.

Anyone know when the next demos for e-motos in the (preferably north/east) bay are happening? I'd like to try out another one; after trying out a zero about 6 years ago I was really intrigued. Very odd-but-cool power delivery, no need to worry about a clutch etc... e-Bikes are very convenient for me in that I can actually ride most of them in stock form since there's no required controls on the left bar.

It'd have to be seriously impressive for me to consider buying one, however. The price of most of these things is nutty compared to a similarly spec'd ICE model. I'm not saying they're gouging, it's just a hard value proposition considering how much I love my $12k Duke 890R.

I don't know about a general demo with multiple manufacturers but Contra Costa Powersports in Concord usually has Zeros available for test rides and CalMoto in Livermore usually has Energicas available for test rides.

No chain, no belt, no driveshaft. I think I like the idea.

But I ordered my Energica Experia the first minute possible back on June 1. They said it would be here in September. But I hear they never got out in time for the August shutdown.

Anybody know what the delay is?

I hear the harness for most motorcycles are made in Ukraine. I wonder if that is the issue.

Anybody know?

Not that I don't have enough bikes to ride until whenever I get my Experia.

I mean it's Italian... there will be delays. Not really surprising. From all I've seen, it will probably be well worth the wait!

A harness doesn't seem like something that needs to be made in one specific place. I'd be surprised if the harnesses were made outside of Italy, since it's a pretty low volume bike.

A little Super73 video, very short but it's something:
