The NHL Thread, 2012/2013 season

Is there a date yet? Weekend following turkey day I could do (sat). And some date in between xmas and new years....sorry, um busy :'(

There is no doubt in my mind that the NHLPA has some doing in this mess, but I also believe that the NHL has been the primary agitator. As I understand the NHL BoG position; the Commish needs only 8 owners consent to call for a lockout, which is bullshit in my opinion, but so long as Bettman and his cronies are at the head table, nothing will happen anytime soon.

Funny, I keep saying the same about Fehr. I think the players didn't have quite enough balance in their favor to pull this stunt. Had 2 more solid years with an increase in revenue occured, they would have had a much better bargaining position.

From what I understand, the most player favored NHLPA proposal was agreement for immediate 50/50 split of hockey related revenue, down from the previous 57/43, so long as the contracts in place are honored. The common example I have come across are Zach Parise and Ryan Suter; both of whom signed identical 13yr/98M contracts...now Chuck Fletcher et al desires an immediate return on those very same contracts that were signed a mere 4 months ago. It's highway robbery and I'm shocked an arbitrator has not been consulted yet.

Sorry the lockout is 100 percent on the players. They could have negotiated a fair deal a month ago. They waited until the 11th hour to even offer a proposal and when they did it was based on an entirely different system, including elements related to ownership profit share that is not the business of the players. Their attachment to Donald Fehr's alternative universe proposals are the reason things are stuck right now. The owners are never going to accept those or negotiate off of those, period.

DF has convinced the players that they have way more leverage than they do and they have made the mistake of buying in. The need to negotiate off the owners latest proposal.

I've been convinced that Donald Fehr is preaching more leverage than he (and the players) possess, but you must refuse to believe that it all falls no him and the players; it takes two to tango, and this has become a straight up no holds barred hoe down.

Even if the players and NHLPA had come up with lackluster proposals beforehand, the NHL had proposed the 50/50 split to which the NHLPA had agreed to pending that contracts in place be honored.....then Bettman and his 8 circle jerk buddies walked out of the conference room...where's the sense in that?

Again, there are no angels in this fairy tale, and in the end the fans lose the largest amounts...............even half-ass fans are still fans, and they have since moved on.

ok I'll try again...yay it worked this time!

presented is the group seating areas (in color) and the prices.

Friday Dec 7 7:15 vs the Colorado Eagles.

sections I'm considering:

58 or 60...I was told some obstruction from fans going to/from the beer garden

51...have to walk all the way around the stadium (not really an issue...it's tiny) to get to the beer garden. may also have obstruction from netting; I've posed this question to my ticket rep and am waiting response. if no obstruction, I like these seats

GG or PP...will be more $$$. worth it? I wouldn't mind these, if everyone is stoked about it and willing to shell out a few extra bucks.

20 or 21...this seems to be the best deal. 20 is nearest beer garden, 21 would allow us to face the benches. If section 51 has netting obstruction, and no one has a preference, I will be ordering us section 21.

I'll await preference responses until Wednesday morning. Once seating is finalized I will send out paypal info.

Go Bulls!

PS they aren't making Clowe Bulls sweaters...oh well.

I'm down for 20, 21, or GG. I sat sec 58 row A opening night and there were nice but it's difficult to see along the glass. PP would be a bad idea as its behind the player bench and you'd probably be reading jersey names/numbers the entire game.

Yeah keep us posted I'd be into it for at least 4 tickets anywhere!

I would definitely be interested in the Dec 7 game, as well. I'll sit wherever. On a side note: does anyone want to go to the game this Friday night?

Any time inbetween xmas amr new years I can do, or thanksgiving week wed or sat, everything else is pretty much a no bueno

The game is at 7:15. I haven't purchased tickets yet, as I'm trying to figure out who wants to go with me. I may just buy them at the door, as I hate giving Ticketbastard any money, if I can avoid it.

The Bulls also added another NHLer from the Oilers, Theo Peckham. Also the team the Bulls are playing on Saturday (Ontario Reign) have signed NHLer/former shark Devin Setoguchi.
