2013 draft is same as 2012 draft: Dolphins need new WR's, Niners need new DB's....what else you wanna know? :p

There is talk of trading Alex Smith to the Jets for Revis. While he seems to have lost a step, Revis would still bring a really nice boost to the Niners D and the Jets could REALLY use a, "shut up, work horse," like Smith.

Only problem with that deal is the Jets are trying to shed salary, and Smith makes more than Revis does.

I'd be surprisingly OK with it though even though Revis is a 1 year rental player. Cut Whitner, move Culliver to FS, and let Goldson keep trying to blow up guys with big hits from the SS spot.

What I don't like is the talk about Smith AND draft picks for Revis. No thank you

Let me take this moment to tell you publicly, Dub, that you're a treasure. I really needed the laugh this a.m. :thumbup

PS I'd hate to see Alex Smith go to the Jets. He'd last a game or two before the next concussion or worse. That team is a mess. No discipline, from the top down.

The Raiders actually have a 1st round pick in an NFL draft? So...who's the best young punter coming out of college? :p

Niners have 13 or 14 picks :wow Rumblings that they may trade their 31st and a late rounder for Percy Harvin. Niners can do some good things with this years draft. Last years pick AJ Jenkins can still develop. I really want to see Welker in a Niner jersey or a Mike Wallace, both will cost too much I think. A deep threat is needed. Crabtree has insane hands but never goes more than 20 yards it seems.

Anyplace Smith goes, a salary renegotiation is going to have to be part of the deal.

WR's is not the problem, it's the secondary imho. Two years in a row the secondary gets torched in the playoffs. Use those draft picks to beef up the secondary so the DB's can finally carry their weight.

It's a combination of things. Justin Smith getting hurt and becoming ineffective meant little to no pressure on the QB, and given enough time any QB will torch a secondary.

That doesn't mean that there aren't issues with the secondary though. Both Goldson and Whitner are hit first, cover second guys. There needs to be a guy that attacks the ball and not just tries to decleat people.
