The Official 2012 NFL Thread

I'd like Alshon Jeffery from South Carolina if he makes it to the SF pick in Rd1.

i thought Forsset was their version of Sproles.

what gives?

You're right, except he doesn't pick up blitzes all that well, isn't nearly as quick as Sproles, and hasn't been all that he could or should be. He's not as elusive as he once was, and we're starting to see more of Leon Washington as a 3rd down back.

sad, cal alums usually have higher aspirations than being the best of the worst. SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN SCHOOL MARSHAWN, should have stayed in school.

A smart move on his part. It was something that always baffled me on how the collegiate system is used to recruit and groom athletes. Look at how Canada does it with World Juniors or even MLB with minor leagues. Smart move by Lynch (or any collegiate athlete) to get out and start making money for himself than for Cal/NCAA.

i thought he was a possibility because some of the rankings have him around the mid 20's, but then he had a pretty impressive bowl game and he might be one of those guys that starts moving up the rankings too much before the draft. guy is 6'4"/6'5" 230 good hands and a hard worker. not elite speed but what a red zone target

I like USC's Nick Perry or Stanford's Chase Thomas for the Giants.
those guys will be available at #30? because they're not getting 32

Yeah, I think we'll be able to get them at NUMBER 31 OR 32 BIOTCH!, but it depends on how many 1st round picks are going to be spent in Linebackers. There seems to be a QB Bonanza in the works and ESPN doesn't even commit to them being in the 1st round with a couple of Linebackers rated higher. If Jarvis Jones or Luke Kuechly fall into our lap, I'm totally stoked, but I don't see that happening. As long as we address the Linebacker corps, I'm happy. Would like to spend the second round on the O-Line, preferably a good Tackle.

I dunno how much of a QB Bonanza there will be with Barkley and Landry Jones returning to school.

Luck is going #1, RG3 will go Top 10, and then there's guys like Brandon Weeden who is good but already 29 or something, and Ryan Tannehill who will probably be the 3rd QB taken.

I think rg3 has a good chance of going #1. luck won't be far behind.

Doubtful...

I like RG3, and he'll probably be a top 5, but he won't go 1...

This won't be "Manning/Leaf" repeat either, where one pick has so much reward and one so much failure, because RG3 so far seem to be a pretty solid individual.

^whilst watching some nfl mumbojumbo, Tony Dungy stated he has some info that Irsay may be favoring rg3. but that was before they fired their gm, so things may have changed.

^well, not everyone now that it you heard it HERE first.

but it would be too bad for rg3...who would want to get drafted as the next recipient of James Harrisson's helmet? :laughing

well, i was wrong about cam newton. but no fucking way rg3 goes #1. the vikes should take him, fuck c. ponder.

Given the situation, I think Ponder did alright.

Vikings may need to fill the hole at RB and thier O-line before getting a new QB.

RB? Seriously? You dont think Adrian Peterson will be back? Even if he comes back from surgery at 90% he's STILL better than most RB's in the NFL.

ponder was o.k. and he may wind up being good, but is he a franchise changer? if not, then why not trade ponder for what you can get and pick rg3 or conversely, trade the pick to someone that wants him. for that matter, the rams should trade that pick to someone that wants to move in for rg3.

the conventional wisdom is that it takes a full year for someone to get back from a torn acl. so even if peterson is ready to play next season he might not be 100 percent until the year after.

Playing one season on the surface at the HHH Metrodome alone is probably like playing 2 anywhere else, except maybe St Louis...

That being said, the knee injury was pretty devastating. He'll come back, but he won't be the same burst of speed back, and that will make the o-line so much more important.

ESPN seems to think he'll go to Clevland with the #4 too. :dunno
