The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

Raiders are dominating the bay area right now that's why.

Yeah McDonald is okay. He's got stone hands, unless he fixes that he's not gonna last much longer.

They drafted a dude this year from Iowa in the 5th round who looks like a beast and has been getting 1st team reps. He did this against Denver on Saturday:

I hate to admit it, but Las Vegas is putting up a damn fine football team right now. I think the San Jose Team is going really in the right direction though. They dumped that toxic turdburglar of a QB/RB and the Draft this year looked like some powerful sorcery. If the Niners stay on this path, I think they can be a serious competitor in 2-3 more years as long as Santa Clara doesn't foreclose on their ballpark for not paying their bills. :laughing

Seattle is on the way down and so is Arizona. Both seem to be in decline. The old S.F. vs L.A. rivalry may be back with the Rams seeming to also be developing a team down there. Should be interesting to watch over the next few years.

a good SF/LA rivalry would be cool. I miss the SF/SEA one which was really Harbaugh/Carrol carried over from the PAC 10 (Stanford/USC)

:laughing

Better FF team name?

Make Amari-Carr Great Again

or

Cobbfeve

Mine is Caeruleus Magnum.

I mainly only draft New York Giants. I won $200 with first place last season.

Haven't even had the draft yet. lol.

I kind of feel like you have to draft him with that name. I am obligated to get as many Giants as I can of course with my name. It's like, if you have a theme, you need to roll with it, even if you don't start they guy. Of Course I had Eli and Odell, but I also picked up Le'veon Bell, Devonta Freeman, and Matt Ryan out of the trash heap, so...

agreed, if you use a player's name for a punny team name, you should have him on your team.

You think it won't be another double digit losing season? I will be shocked if the Niner's plug more than 6 wins this year. They are in year 1 of a MAJOR ground up rebuild from a 2 win team. I mean, if he only thing you can do is, "BEAT L.A.!" I guess you can now have an edge against the Chargers, too, but 4-6 wins would be a show of marked improvement for the Niners this year.

I was hoping we'd at least get 7 and stay out of double digit losses again. Given the way the offense has (not) showed up I'm worried if we will even win 4.

7 would be a MONSTER change of performance from last year. They seriously were the worst team in the NFL last year on this side of the Browns. 2 Wins against the same team and that was 100% psychology and 0% Talent.

You are talking about increasing their wins this year by 350% with a whole new offense, mainly mad up of guys who are place holders, not future starters, a Defense that was dead last and WORSE than the Browns in Yards Allowed and Points allowed, a brand new GM, and a new head coach. This teams doesn't even know who it is yet. I think 5 wins would be a moral victory and if you get 2 division wins that aren't the Rams, it should be boner inducing. You have to be real about what they are working with. I think this team is on the right track, but at least one more year of dumpster fire.

I'm not sure you realize just how much of the roster they've turned over in 1 offseason.

5-7 wins should be reasonable.

No, I do, as stated, I think they are on the right path, but it is a major part of why I think they will stink.

All new players with new coaches in a new system. It will take until game 10 before they even have come together as a team. You can't just stick a bunch of random talent in a pot and taste the greatness. That is why these Free Agent Dream Teams usually flop. A team needs to be stirred and developed.

heheh i agree, but did you see wtf jim harbaugh did in his 1st year :x

Shanahan actually brought in guys that are familiar with his system. Hoyer was having his best season under Shanahan before he got hurt.

I did, but the team was STACKED AS FUCK and just waiting for a coach. Patrick Willis in his Prime? Frank Gore running on a full tank of gas? Vernon Davis back when he could catch, Joe Staley, Donte Whitner, Ahmad Brooks, Navarro Bowman, that team had been quietly playing shit football for 10 years and collecting top 10 draft picks under garbage Coaching. I remember telling Charmed in 2010, What the fuck is wrogn with your team, dude, on a matter of raw talent along without Coaching, they should be getting more wins than this.

That was a great football team in need of a leader, these Niners are nothing near that.

If the offense doesn't at least get off the ground a bit and they keep giving up 100 yards in penalties there is no way we get more than 4-5 wins. The offense has been mostly horrible with a few flashes.
