The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

If the offense doesn't at least get off the ground a bit and they keep giving up 100 yards in penalties there is no way we get more than 4-5 wins. The offense has been mostly horrible with a few flashes.

Yeah, Bro, it won't lookup much from that this year. The D comes first in a successful rebuild.

Niners released Ahmad Brooks.

NO THAT WAS NOT A GODDAMN PENALTY ON THE DREW BREES STRIP SACK.

That cost us a SB trip.

Well, poop, now I gotta get a new jersey. My old 55 ain't Brooks no more. May wait until the end of the season and pick the underdog D player sure to stick with the team for years.

I wonder where he'll land?

P.S. May just end up getting a Harold jersey and stick with the position.

true fucking story

the Niners D is currently well ahead of the O from a raw talent standpoint.... same as when Harbaugh took over.

I don't remember what year but didn't they only give up 1-2 rushing TD's all season, and those were to Beast Mode @ SEA, end of the year? that D was near-2000 Baltimore level of "fuck you", just didn't have the same scoring kick return game.

... and Brady FUMBLED!

Like I said, the CFL has it right. The refs will throw a flag on a questionable QB hit, and then it gets reviewed to see how much, if any, impact it had on the play or if it is worthy of penalty yardage. Seems to cut down on flopping/over acting on the part of the QB's.

There was talent on the O too when Harbs took over. Not high power talent but road graders and grinders. We had a solid QB then. That squad had the foundation for building it into something and was only lacking an good coaching staff. Apples and oranges. Though I think we've hit on something with KS and Lynch.

Brees didn't flop on that one though. He got clobbered but good. It's just that the hit was totally legal.

Raiders and Patriots probably already on the phone.

Part of it was longevity, but he's got the 3rd most sacks in SF history.

:x :rolleyes

you can quibble over Brady fumbling. Brooks hit/strip was clearly, measurably, a clean play and not a foul. it absolutely cost SF playoffs that year.

agree about CFL rules being waaay better

I'm a Brooks fan. he was a 50/50 roll of the dice coming from Cincy and he did not disappoint. wish him the best..... so that means NE and a SuperBowl trip :party

Harold has been looking solid and more polished this pre-season. Not a bad pick

It cost an Owl win, nobody will ever convince me otherwise.
