The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

they're playing with our emotions

You're right. I was thinking, "Hmmm...maybe 7 wins is possible...provided they play enough teams with bad defenses...gotta look over the schedule again."

Looking over the schedule I'm seeing 8 teams that fit the bill:

Rams
Indy
Skins
Chi
Houston
Tenn
Jax

...and a toss up between Philly and NY...depends on whether or not NY can stay healthy.

Of course all my hopes will be dashed in the first two weeks: Carolina and then Seadderall.

the 49ers quest for 6 continues...6 wins, that is :laughing

:laughing Ouch...

Hoyer looked respectable, but he's looked like that before and faded, or injured.

The 3 QBs they have now look much better than what they had last 2 years.

As for the Raiders, if there isn't a steady improvement in the defense it may be time to let Norton Jr go.

I think it should have happened, but the radio shows say he's being kept around as a buffer for Del Rio, so he can be fired mid-season if things aren't going well.

:laughing I felt like he slacked on JPP's lack of fingers.

The NYG Defense is really good, no room to pick on them I guess. I think Marshall and ODB both make the opener though.

Not really, dude, it is preseason, it doesn't mean shit. Showing some flights of talent means that they are on track to start turning it around as expected, look to pull off 4-6 wins this year and let it be a great show of improvement with a possible chance of a winning season next year and maybe a playoff run the year after if things continue to improve on schedule. :dunno

I don't believe Houston's defense belongs in that list...they are one of the tops in the league.

The Giants have a top 5 Defense right now. Many would tell you Top 3. Health isn't really a concern on that side of the ball currently. I have a hard time seeing the Niners putting a playoff team from last year who many write in as a Dark Horse Superbowl Candidate in the, "Easy Win," column for a bottom tier team on a rebuild. As always with the NYG, it mainly depends on which Eli shows up, the Magician, or the Derptician.

Similarly, I think this may finally be the year we see Houston with Watt and Clowney both playing healthy at the same time. If the both tee off the way they are supposed to, subpar offenses like SF will be terrorized by that D-Line and giving the mediocre Houston Offense a chance to get things rolling. I like the Niners odds against Houston better, but I think they would have to score points on Defense and Special teams to pull off a win.

The rest of those guys, I can see a win happening and some losses. Figure they pull of like one sleeper win against a much better team, A division game is never easy unless you are in the AFC East, so maybe they pull out a win against Az and/or Seattle.

Pretty much the whole NFC East is clearly better (except maybe DC), but they all have enough question marks to be an upset candidate, especially with Zeke being suspended for the game vs. Niners. I can see even a surprise shock of Carolina in week one, but they seem to have knuckled down after last years slump so, maybe not.

If I was a Niners fan, I would think this year had enough hope in it to make it worth watching games, even if there isn't much hope of winning. There are some shots out there and some insight into a potentially brighter future worth watching.

I'm certainly not a niners fan either, I have nightmares that's begin with Elway and Montana standing toe to toe, quickly ending with the numbers 55-10. The horror. But I can see a few of those wins for sure. I just hope that the raiders defense is as bad as they say and that a Bronco offensive miracle happens. I believe our defense will eat the raiders offense for breakfast. (If that doesn't happen I expect a pile of shit from you all to come flying my way. :twofinger)

hahaha...they'll have to figure out how to stop the raiders run attack first

raiders-broncos games over the last 2 years have been fun.

They have been fun. Carr is the real deal and I wish he wasn't hurt in their last game against the broncos last year. Also, as much as it stings to say it Carr is a great person too, he gets a lot of respect from me :thumbup.

someone blow up vegas already so the raidddders can stay in the bay area lol

You mean San Antonio?

The East Bay is the worst. The Warriors want /ARE out, the A's want out, the Raiders want/ARE out. If Vegas fell apart, they would just go to San Diego or San Antonio. Maybe St. Louis, LOL.
