The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

He was classic Brady in the first half, then in the second, not so much. :dunno

The whole offense seemed to deflate in the second half. Hell, the entire stadium did. But he was still dropping dimes. Receivers were just dropping them iirc.

I still have to wonder how Gronk's thrashed left arm is affecting him and the whole team maybe as a side effect. He looked like he was in a world of pain last night after crashing into the ground on that failed TD pass in the first half.

He used to be the big, goofy, "can do anything and walk away with a smile" guy on that team. Not so much the past few seasons.

All in all I'd say this is going to test Darth Hoody more than anything else. First game of the season and while his team is still stout they finally look to be past their zenith.

I was talkin about predictions for the season in general. Not your fantasy league. :twofinger

Winning Fantasy Football is all about making predictions on player performance, sooo...

In 2014 the Dolphins (Division Rival) stomped a mudhole in them in Week 1 and they won the Bowl that year. I'm just saying that I am not ready to assign any flops, studs or saviors after 1 week of ball. I don't start making hard calls until I see 3-4 real games.

I get ya. And agree. There were times last night that NE usually capitalizes and swings the game in their favor. Didn't happen. Could be one game. Could be that it's finally time for them to fall back to Earth. I'm rooting for the latter but understand Hoody & Co may yet have some juice. Gotta watch to find out. The fun of being a fan.

Remember the year he got like 11 wins with Garrappalo? The thing about the Evil One is, he adapts. If there was ever anyone you cannot guess after a couple of games it is him. Even if they were choking hard the first couple, he will redraft the system to make wins obtainable anyhow. The organ baths keep him sharp. You have to be a mean Grandpa in order to destroy him.

:D

And yet even Mean Grandpa could only banish The Hoody for brief periods. The Hoody has always found a way to self resurrect. The Hoody has outlasted all who have opposed him. Evil incarnate. I'm surprised you aren't a disciple? :twofinger

yeah the Pats first successful drive in the second half was predicated on several penalties against KC. it was sandwiched by two 3-and-outs from KC so it *seemed* like 'business as usual' for them. but not after that drive....

KC lost Berry but Houston said, "Not today ISIS. Not today." and then he sacked and rushed Brady several times to break up their final few attempts

fun fact.

the last 3 times the Pats lost their season opener at home, they went on to win the Owl.

too many to be counted. there's a preseason weekly running tab on ESPN and it reads like War & Peace.

For some reason RZ keeps focusing on the Colts/Rams game, so far a blow out for the Rams... you can NOT tell me Tolzien is a better QB than Kaepernick.

not really.....

the diff between giving them the ball on their own 40 and a punt to the 10 with so little time is negligible

.... if Hoyer doesn't take the sack : |

Giving them a short field twice ended up in 6 more points.

Dropping passes is killing the 9ers.

Ahh, remember the good old days back in like, 2 hours ago, when the Niners used to have an exciting young defensive rookie to talk about?
