The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

damn pats got super lucky

tb kicker missed 3 fukn fg wow

Agreed. Even with 3 blown kicks and a less than stellar performance on offense, TB still had a shot at the end. Given the almost two decades of New England dominance of the NFL, TB should have had no chance in that game. I think that we are seeing the twinkling end of the NE reign :thumbup.

... and then they followed it with the doc about the Tuck Rule/playoff in NE. :facepalm

The funny thing is that all the news today is about how NE is back on track with their defense. Sorry, their D didn't do squat. The Bucs' kicker blew that game. Also, had he made all of those kicks NE would most likely have started back another 10-15 yards on the subsequent drives which could very well have decreased the number of points they put up.

There is no way to read this win as turning a corner for NE. They didn't prove anything other than that they are still lucking into wins. That won't save them when they have to play teams that are solid in all three phases of the game.

I enjoyed listening to Romo in the broadcast booth. Way more refreshing than listening to that blowhard Simms.

I noticed the NFL didn't show the national anthem. They're in full damage control mode.

Not to hate on my HoF'er, but I have never understood the hype around Simms as a player or as a media personality.

He's from a mold similar to John Madden?

Romo did a great job last night. He was breaking down plays and strategy at the line. Just the type of info I'd like to hear rather than every other comment being a verbal blow job for how this or that player is one of the top ten at their position. Who gives a fuck? I don't want to hear the announcer's stroking players' egos. I want to know what's going on in the game and how the strategies and tactics are affecting it.

Wait, wait, wait, hold the fuck on. John Madden, as much as Al David is the worst owner/GM ever, was one of the Greatest Coaches in the History of Pro Ball. I believe that.

I meant in a similar "announcer's" mold. The bit Simms didn't get was the ability to use the teleprompter sketch-o-matic. He relates to the audience decently even if it is in the guise of the grumpy, perpetually dissatisfied, old uncle. And he knows (or at least knew) the players. I think the game is leaving him behind and it's just about time for him to hang up his mic.

I hope he sticks around then. Lawd knows good color commentators are hard to come by. I have not heard him call a game yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Can we ask the Commish to make him spit on a Cowgirls logo every time he starts to speak though?

Sure, I can see that. I used to really like him back in the day when he did a lot of X's and O's to show plays on the screen, but it seems like the game in general has gotten away from that kind of broadcasting.

Joe Staley showing his age on that sack he gave up :(

Every time I think the Niners can't make more mistakes..... :(

Kittle's been clutch, though...

Whattup with the Steelers? :wtf

Giants v LA's Chargers looks like the ''cripple fight'' I thought it would be, as does the Browns v Jets. Seriously bad football, no matter who wins, fans lose.

I didn't get to see it but the score says the Eagles stomped the Cardinals! I thought the cards were good. Didn't really expect a shit bird win. Im kinda liking how the NFC East looks right about now... Woot.

Sucks about Beckham.

The Eagles looked dominant, Wentz IS the real deal.

I've been watching Red Zone all day since I've got a bit of a sore back today after cleaning and re-arranging the garage yesterday.

Sucks about Beckham.

Broken ankle, say the reports.

Giants need to start thinking about a high draft pick.

TJ Watt out for the year fuck the NFL this sucks.

Wow, thanks for all the distilled info. I'm on vacation and didn't watch a single minute of football this weekend.

JJWatt out for another year? And OBD as well?
Crazy stuff.
