Fuck Tawm Brady. Why is someone that good so unlikable?

Because he comes from an upper-middle class background with all that annoying self-esteem in a league of often kids who endured tough circumstances or are just country hicks? Because he probably will succeed in post-career rather than gamble it away on bad advice and grifters?

Because I already know I'm prejudiced against entitled burb punks, I dont hold it against Tom Brady. He's great at what he does and his marriage choice doesn't bother me in the least. If you are ultra-famous, you have something in common with other ultra-famous people and they probably make decent mate choices. I only care about the guy on the field, admire that he made it this far and has become as wise as they come in the face of incoming rushers. I enjoy his competence.

I dunno, I think he just drinks deeply from the smugbucket is all. He doesn't get on my nerve that much, except he makes the Massholes really happy, which no one likes.

The biggest problem with Tom Brady is he doesn't play for any of our teams.

If he were a Steeler / 9er / Raider we would all love the shit out of it.

:laughing

See, blue and green can co-exist. I totally agree! Brady is amazing. Fuck he's about my age I should REALLY like him and I just can't. I'm sure he's swell in person but the Brady persona we get to see is smugtastic to eleventy billion.

Of course we can. Repeat after me! FUCK THE COWBOYS! FUCK JERRY JONES! FUCK TROY AIKMAN, AND ALL THE GLAM ASS HORSES THEY RODE IN ON!

Never stop choking in December, Cowgirls, we love it every time!

I know the Niners are with us too. ;)

He is mega smugtastic and does fucking yoga for spring training. He would be the poster child for the Niners if they were still in San Francisco. Now that they are a San Jose team, they really need to draft an Indian Guy from the CFL and then cut him loose right before the Superbowl so they don't have to pay his signing bonus.

just being honest: I would probably like the guy if the refs called that fucking fumble. but every time I see him, I am reminded of the potential super bowl win the refs took from the Raiders. It really has nothing to do with him himself.

But that's what's so funny, the contrast between yer wicked Bostonians and the Prince of San Mateo..They are just so frickin different. he's a Californian fercrissakes....But hey, I still can't figure out why hicks voted for the guy from NEW YORK CITY!!!! for Prez.

Had another thought whilst on the lunchtime walk. We loved Joe Namath in the fur coat but hated Brady in the Uggs. What is the difference? Their respective backgrounds.

PS. Of course he does yoga. He's from here!!!! Hell, i took a yoga class for PE at SF State in 1978!!!

The Patriots "salad days" will soon be coming to an end, and with this TB12 personal trainer issue, the cracks are beginning deepen.

Brady is the guy you want on your team, he's been a good soldier to the BB way of doing things, and it's paid off. Having said that, with his stated goal of playing to age 45 in mind, he more than likely will not go away from the game gracefully, and that will probably bring the dynasty down, much like Kobe did to the Lakers.

I'm believing that BB traded Garrapolo to the 9ers with a tinge of spite because he really wanted to keep him, but Kraft is loyal to Brady. They received a better offer from Cleveland, but BB showed he had a bit of a heart by not sending JG there. Kraft probably just signed off on it without knowing the offer.

The Massholes will look to this era the way the 9er fans look at the run through the 80's/90's, and those runs don't come around that often for many teams.

It's completely idle speculation but I do believe BB liked Garoppalo and did that very thing. The up and coming franchise that's finally coming together. I just hope the Niners get enough O-line to keep him safe.

haha...Barrett Robbins for me too

On the blame scale of that Super Bowl debacle, Robbins barely moves the needle for me... well after Al's ego for "trading" Gruden and Callahan's shitty, predictable offense.

I'm throwing Tony Siragusa in that "Throw something at the TV when his ugly fucking face appears", that hit on Gannon in the '01 playoffs was worse than the Tuck. I found a special joy watching him (well, his character at least) get killed in "The 25th Hour". :laughing

eh but he know's he's the high safety, last man standing. and that doesn't look like he tried to peel off or pull up. looks like he was trying to hit......

i'm willing to admit I may be projecting my opinions on the events. possible it's malicious or corrupt. it's just not obvious if it is. seems like a genuine mistake

You can blame the entirety of the Raiders legacy of suck for the last 30+ years on that. Worst Owner/GM EVER.

Or you can hate Joe Namath for the shenanigans.

yeah I don't completely agree. losing the starting pro bowl center the day before the game against one of the great defenses, was crushing. Yes, for sure trading Gruden sucked. Callahan had a good offense, the problem is that it was Gruden's offense, against Gruden, without his starting center he planned an attack around for 1.9 weeks, and he had to change the day before the game. But to your point, had Gruden stayed, it would have been a different story for sure.

Siragusa was a real ass with that flop (yet another rule in place the next year). But the Raiders were down by 17 in the 4th at the time iirc. It would have been an epic comeback (against another great defense), but far from guaranteed. His public downfall didn't cause me to shed any tears, though.

The compelling argument is that the game has changed a lot. I hear this from the actual players generally my age or older, even a few younger. The era of the "protected QB." Throws open the durability issue as a component of greatness. How many times did they get the shit beat out of em, I guess, and how that played into their split-second decision making, knowing that the consequences in earlier years could be more routinely dangerous.

But yeah. I am a number one Joe Montana guy but Brady has checked every box that I can think of that Joe ever hit in terms of sheer volume of passes, accuracy, audibles, whatever. It just becomes emotion at this point because I liked Joe better somehow and he seemed more grown-up and manly, which sounds silly to even type out. I can't remember if Brady ever had as severe an injury as Joe's back surgery, which he recovered from and lived to play again. I still remember riding that roller coaster. Man....

But the most important thing that Brady has achieved that Joe was known for is to never count him out when all odds seem against them. Brady is just surgical and the system makes all of his receivers seem great because of his accuracy I think. Marino was accurate too, but too high-strung.

Brady never excited me the way Joe has but I'm sure NE people feel differently and I don't resent that an iota. It's so stupid but I actually am delighted whenever Joe pops up at an event or gives an interview and I get to see it. Part of that was his own doing of not being all over the scene after retirement. I think he played it just right, actually. He never was that glib anyway. I have a feeling we'll see more Brady, though at this point, Aaron Rodgers is the guy making me laugh on the commercials. I don't think I'll care about seeing Brady on anything....

Brady is the best of his era and it's not close.

Montana is still the GOAT for me. You just can't compare different eras. Rule changes simply make it impossible.

Brady had his leg broken, which isn’t terrible but he was no spring chicken either. I’m an Elway fan, but I cannot deny Brady’s greatness (damn that hurt to type). Brady has been successful with a fair number of nobodies or somebody’s that spend more time injured than playing. Montana had Rice, Taylor, Clark, and Craig.
