I just read that and was surprised. I like watching Fitch fight. I would hope he lands a spot with Bellator. Too bad Strike force folded, even though it was owned by the UFC it was a reasonable alternative to the UFC.
 
Can't believe they cut Fitch! Wow.

Although most of his fights were like watching paint dry (lay and pray), and he lost his last fight, I thought the fight before his last one he had turned a corner and it was Fight of The Night.

Complete and utter insanity. I'm not a huge Fitch fan, but I do appreciate his grappling. How an organization can cut one of their top 10 WW's is baffling. And Vlad The Janitor? WTF? Has only lost to top flight competition.

I assume this is to make way for guys like Nate The Choke Marquardt and Friends from Strikeforce, plus this new stupid women's MMA.

I've watched virtually every televised UFC fight since the beginning. I will not be watching UFC 157. I have absolutely zero interest in it, period.

Trading Ronda Rousey for Fitch? SRSLY WTF.

Rhonda fights cans. I'm sure if Fitch fought a bunch of amateurs at some local Indian casino fight, he'd finish 'em all, too.

I think this is gonna back fire.
 
Not sure how they can cut Fitch and keep Koscheck. Talk about a snooze fighter , he literally stares at the clock...

Some writers have said that Fitch is a 'gatekeeper'. Will never win the title, but is good enough to beat the new guys. I disagree about the title thing, but can see their point of view.
Kos makes more noise than Fitch, annoying IMO. Kos is not a better fighter though.
 
Is Jake Shield still fighting? I like to see him get cut. Shit, we should all make a list of fighters that should get cut.

Uhhh... I guess you didn't get the memo... Karo is long gone, Hughes officially retired, Penn is all but done, Kongo won his last couple fights and Bisping just fought in a title elimination fight. I don't care for Shields, but he's still a high level fighter.
 
I just don't like Kongo and Bisping. I can't really see Kongo going up the ranks at all. He has a glass jaw for a while now and can be easily KO. I dislike Bisping the most out of all the UFC fighters. I think a lot of his fights were setup for him to fight weak fighters until he fought Vitor. He actually fought Sonnen and lost to him. I don't think Brian Stann(Bisping fought before Vitor) is a good fighter. That is why he is fighting old ass Wanderlei Silva. I hope Silva kicks his ass.
 
well Fitch was cut from the UFC back in '08 for 24 hrs over the ufc video game. Could be Dana never liked Fitch and finally cut him loose.

dunno if this is true, but Faber may be cut if he loses??

Agree, except for brown...a shields' fight actually be even more snoozeworthy than fitch's. Atrocious, but easy to bet on..
 
If you have Jake Shields and Jon Fitch fight each other, you would be able have a person with ADD go to sleep.
 
Dana White video interview. Says Fitch was going downward in rankings and expensive. Open to Fitch coming back if he does well outside of the UFC. And this:

“We have 470-something guys under contract,” explained White. “We have over 100 guys too many on the roster right now. The blood has not all been spilled yet.”
